he replaced Milito :D

and He is giving italian players a representative in that final :)

Grande Matrix, he should retire here and coach our youth team...
We surely will have a bunch of militant youth players :)

He has won everything: World Cup, Coppa, Scudetto and Champion Leagues...
He just needs two more, European Super Cup and World Club Cup...
and he is basically the only one in our team to win all those..
Unless Brazil or Argentina win the World Cup...

Milan - Italian Champion, European Champion, World Champion. There was no Italian from Inter on top both Europe and the World until Saturday "and like Mou said, the World Cup and Champions League finals are the two games that matter most in football."

Materazzi when did you know that the night on Saturday was possible?
"After London when Mourinho left home a strong player (Balotelli) and all were in the favor of it. Inter, on that night, were no longer a strong group: that they it became one. Just like Italy at the 2006 World Cup."

Mourinho as Lippi?
"They both have their own way, without compromise."

Madrid as Berlin?
"In Germany, I think I gave more because I wanted to have the World Cup. However, with Inter, I've been here for nine years and I began to win when I was 33 years old."

During the ceremony, TV cameras caught the exchange between Materazzi and Platini. "He gave me the medal and I told him: 'I got over it huh?' He made a suprised face and asked me why. 'How so? I also won the World Cup..."

Materazzi, Mourinho is going to Real. What will Inter lose?
"One conductor, one who represents you. If Moratti had a fever, he would be the president."

With whom will you replace? Why Capello? Why Mihajlovic? Why Guaridola?
"Capello's hunger for winning. Mihajlovic wants to come with a great knowledge of this group. Guardiola may represent continuity."

But this Inter may initiate a cycle?
"It depends on us if we keep the mentality of being the strongest of all. Which was given by Mourinho. What I wrote in a text message on May 8, when he went to see Bayern."

Materazzi shows the phone with a long list of text messages: messages of congratulations on Saturday. On May 8 this exchange was found: Sender, the Special One: "I'm in Berlin in the stadium." Sender, Materazzi: "How are Bayern, mister?" Sender, the Special One: "We'll win 2-0." Mourinho already knew it on May 8.

And Ibrahimovic...
"Thanks to Moratti, Branca and Orliani for giving us Milito and thanks Raiola for taking away Ibrahimoivc and because of that Eto'o arrived. I want to thank Ibrahimovic for the 3 Scudetti. But when it counts: he was not there."

Raiola and Ibrahimovic were very harsh on you after Inter-Barcelona because you were tough on Balotelli.
"Yes, but when his time at Turin, Ibra wanted to beat him, but I was there to defend Balotelli. Luckily, the bathroom was the key, and Mario was locked. And didn't Raiola tell you that Ibra punched Zebina?"

But with Balotelli, who exaggerated more Totti or Materazzi?
"Francesco was wrong, admitted it and apologized. He is truthful just like me. He is the captain of the past, present and future of Roma."

Will you be more lenient on Balotelli?
"Some scientist said: 'Imagine if someone like Materazzi starting to give advice.' I've always tried to be close with Mario."

What did he say, when will you speak again?
"Nothing. But after the victory we came and embraced. He understands that I love him just like the team but the team always comes first."

Hate to be so negative but I hope he retires and takes either a coaching/administrative/scouting position soon.

Sender, the Special One: "I'm in Berlin, your stadium." (Materazzi won the WC here)

This is more accurate than "I'm in Berlin, in the stadium."

Then Cordoba should retire too.

Really, Matrix was not that bad in this season. He made few, just few, clear errors and had more good games than poor games. He wasn't superb this season but he wasn't terrible either. I think he did his job as backup CB and he is important leader and example for youngsters.

Yes, I'm a bit biased, but I just can't understand this talk about our legend. Of course you can bash also legends, but I don't think Marco deserves that.

Materazzi is so wonderful character at Inter you have to love him. Him and Cordoba are however in tough positions, or should I say our management is in a tough position because they have to make decisions regarding these legends. It's super sad to see either of them leaving the club "too early". Interesting to see what will happen with Matrix and Cafe.

heh heh, Matrix can be Mou's replacement in taking away the heat off the team during crucial moments...

We have to make him our youth coach or something,.. This way, he can speak for us as well :)
Imagine our youth team wearing T-Shirts that Marco bought for them.... Mocking Milan or Juventus

His father was lazio coach, I think he could be a very good coach

The good thing is CC, we're not like Milan who forced Maldini to be a first team starter, or someone like Ambrosini, Gattuso who are clearly not good enough anymore. We recognized the problem and brought in able starters like Samuel, Lucio and you can even consider Chivu. Hopefully this summer, we'll get one of Bonu or Rano too.

I'm clearly very sentimental to our old guards, I don't want them to be sold, ever. I want them to retire in our shirts.

Having said that, I don't want them starting too many matches either. :D So if you ask me, even though it's not the best thing to do, I'll keep Matrix & Cordoba as a 5th and 6th defender but ensuring that those ahead of the pecking line must be good.

Lol, I can't believe I started this post in 2005. Back when Inter lost to Milan...oh memories. I take my words back. He is a legend...in his own way. :)
