Anyways, after the World Cup I think even the Matrix bashers came to a conclusion that he is, after all, more than a decent defender. It's a pity that Burdisso has to play in a team that has alot of competition for the central-defender role, if he was at a team like Roma (where young talent is not wasted) then we would all see why he gets so much praise from people who have seen him play in his past club.

Actually, with Burdisso-Samuel-Cordoba a 3-4-3 wouldn't be too bad, kind of like the way Argentina play using Pizarro as our Riquelme, Ibra as our Tevez, Crespo or Adriano as our Crespo, Martins as our Messi (lol) etc etc. Of course this takes a coach with alot of creativity and who is tactically sound...which might just be the reason why all of the big names we purchased over the summer will probably go down the drain.

If there was no Burdisso and no Andreolli, I'd take Materazzi as our 3rd defender. But it's really frustrating and cruel to see Burdisso and Andreolli waste their talent when they can get more experience and be our future CD's.

We can save money that way and not go after Chivu and Mexes in 4-5 years time and dash out $40M for them.

I re-state the fact that I have nothing against Burdisso, but putting Burdisso in the team through your gut feeling and simply because he's a good young defender is wrong. We simply can't play with three defenders, although Matrix could play as a sweeper in this formation but the level fo covering around defenders is less than in 4-4-2 and we already have a bit of lame sometimes in our defense.

Not only should Burdisso stay with us, but he should be slowly putting Cordoba on the bench since we have to look at our future and neither Materazzi or Cordoba can offer that.

I have minimal problems with his main points, but his name calling is allowed to stand. Not only that, you're on his side. Look at it from my perspective, bro. I'm a fan of Adriano but in no way is he better than the likes of Baggio, Batistuta etc...was that an anti-Adriano statement? I like Cambiasso, but in no way is he as valuable to a team as Gatusso is. etc etc.
