Is it though? Don't forget about the locker room. When other players start requesting similar salaries... if barella gets disgruntled that he just signed at a much lower rate.
Signing Hakan already took care of that.

Signing Vidal and Sanchez took care of that. Players don't and shouldnt give a shit if they came for free.

This is what happens when you give big salary to fraud like Hakan.

Hakan's reputation as a player can't be compared to Vidal and Sanchez's.
Yeah these players are not comparable. Chileans have quite a different pedigree. That plays a big role in contract negotiations. Unfortunate or not, that's how it is.

And veteran players will get bigger salaries unless the younger player is like true top class who could play in any club in the world. This is why I think Brozovic can ask more than Barella, he's 5 years older and it's not like Barella was thrown some double figure salaries at him from other clubs.

Still I don't think we'll give him that 30m€ contract. Maybe with bonuses we can get close.

Today, Hakan was clearly better than Brozo. Maybe we don't need to give Brozović too big of a salary.

Acording to this we only want to offer brozo 4.5mio as base salary might as well slap him in the face. WTF..
they also mention that we still need to reduce salaries and that of the remaining players with contracts ending this summer samir is the one with the highest probability of renewing WTF?

Gazzeta claims brozo is in talks with Atleti and PSG, now i doubt either of them is gonna offer him huuge money simply cause at PSG he wont be that important and i dont think atleti has money to blow through.

Anyways imho if we could renew him for 6 mio and we dont we re making a big mistake.

Almost forgot article also says we wanna have it done by 2021 so we have two months left.

I think they were suggesting we would offer him something like 4.5 base for the first season and then it gradually progresses each year of contract to an average of 6mil/ season or something like that, similar to Barella’s deal.

I personally see no issue in just giving him a 6.5/7mil contract. We can probably afford it too. Likely a bit of posturing going on at the moment.

I'm not saying having a big name doesn't play a role, I'm saying Players don't give a fuck about that. Brozovic knows how crucial he is to us for the past few years and he's not gonna care if Vidal was a big name or not, he's gonna think pay up or he's gonna leave and I don't blame him one bit.

Players might not give a fuck but their agent understand that in the negotiations. If you have a pedigree you can ask more. Inter won't pay what PSG can pay so if Brozovic wants more money than what Inter can offer, he should indeed go to PSG. I'm totally fine with that.

would be ruthless if bbilan signs him on bosman:yao2:
I've read somewhere that Milan actually approached him, but Brozo was uninterested and rejected them. I'm surprised that gobbi are not linked to him, but maybe they also have financial troubles.
.......

"According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Marcelo Brozovic is likely to leave Inter as a free agent at the end of the season if he doesn’t sign a contract extension with Inter in the next two months.
The Croatia international sees his €3.5m-a-year deal expire at the end of the season.
Beppe Marotta is confident that Brozovic will eventually sign a new deal with the Serie A champions, but Inter are running out of time.
The 28-year-old will be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with any other club in January ahead of a free move in the summer.
La Gazzetta dello Sport mentions PSG and Atletico Madrid as two of the most interested clubs in signing Brozovic. According to different reports in Italy, Tottenham and Newcastle are also keeping an eye on the Croat.

Tuttosport had reported Inter would meet Brozovic’s entourage next week, but according to La Gazzetta dello Sport the summit hasn’t been confirmed yet.
The Nerazzurri want Brozovic to sign a new deal by the end of the year. Otherwise, it’s unlikely that he will stay at San Siro.
Inter don’t want to affect Simone Inzaghi’s work on the pitch, so they are in a hurry to solve the situation, one way or another. However, the Serie A champions are not open to selling their midfielder in January."

Probably true, why would he be willing to downgrade and bbilan won't be able to meet his salary demand

My prediction is Brozovic wants to stay but his father and lawyer just wants to get the absolute maximum from Inter. PSG and Atlético rumors are probably even true but they are not considered, only leverage for the contract negotiations.
