You can't just decide you don't like it being net and move it to gross lmao.if the rumours are true it is 8m net. If we wanna play that game I'd love to sign Mbappe on 3m gross.
I did not decide, I clearly typed "I don't think he is asking"

Whereas you said

"8m a year net puts him at like 300k a week in the premiership. That's Lukaku level wages. Not gonna happen."

Without a source.

Good chat.

If we lose Brozovic, we need to change our system and not try to replace him one on one.
If we lose Brozo we need an actual DM like Napoli did with Anguissa. I would make a bid for someone like Tanguy Kouassi from Bayern since he can’t seem to get into their team. He played DM some at PSG and looked a top prospect.

The whole point of the discussion is the suggestion in the media he wants 8m. As explained elsewhere he's already on 4m net a year...

Hwres a source that says 7m net a season.

I wouldn't take anything on sempreinter more seriously than I would on football italia site, its a better source than I have though!

I can't find the source but I swear he is on 5.5m a year which reduces down to around 105k a week, hence why going to 8m a year isn't much of a big deal if you cut the difference and we offload + save on replacement / losing a player on a free? I am confident I am correct, wish I had a source though.

Sempreinter is not a source, it's a news/rumors aggregator. The source of that particular story is Tuttosport, not too reliable but the figures regarding Brozovic's demand thrown around in the media throughout the summer and autumn have varied between 6-8m€.

Brozovic's current salary is 3.5m€ NET, some sources say 4m€ NET. But around those figures anyway. Gross cost of that is between 6.5-7.5M.

I also ask let's cut the week salary format out okay? Because that just confuses the conversation as those are not used in Italy.

If Inter sign Brozovic to 8m€ NET contract, the gross cost of that to the club is around 15m€.

I think you are mixing up gross and net figures here.

Nice try but he's originally a CB and Bayern have said vehemently that he's not available even on a loan deal.

8 NET would be around 150k give or take, not the 300k. I think this is what's confusing me.

Either way, 8m gross or 8m net just pay him.

Why cut out the weekly salary? I am used to using this format not yearly or months, so I will continue to use it.

8m gross or 8m net is HUGE difference. There's about 7m€ difference annually.

You can use weekly salary but none of us can understand it properly, because Italian media uses annual net salaries. And Inter is an Italian club so the media reporting about the club is mostly Italian. Thus, we use annual net salaries. I have my excel which tries to convert those British £ weekly GROSS salaries to € annual NET salaries but I'm not totally convinced how accurate it is.

For example, 8m€ annual NET salary in Italy equals around £230k weekly GROSS salary in Britain (Meaning Lukaku makes over £300k weekly in Chelsea)

Maybe Marotta needs to get creative. Offer Brozovic 3 bitcoins a week :yao:

I know there is a massive difference between 8m gross or net I was just saying pay him what he wants, I can't imagine an Inter without him :(

As for the weekly salary conversion I will adhere to using yearly, I guess in hindsight you are correct and we are an Italian club :) Thanks for explaining the Italy net to Britain salary difference, Lukaku I believe is on 350k a week (just replying to the end of your message)

I normally stay out of financial chats in football, I just passionately believe we need to keep Brozo.

I hear you, mate. I would hate to lose Brozovic. But I can understand Marotta's dilemma here (if Brozo is indeed asking for 8m net). Coz thats like 15m gross wages. Inter's current highest gross wages is 11m (Martinez) and 15m would smash that ceiling. It would make the next few contract negotiations so much more difficult coz 15m will become the new benchmark. I don't think Inter can afford this.

However if the other rumours are true that Brozovic is asking for 6m net (11m gross), we should give that to him. He is worth it.

On the other hand, I don't feel like there are clubs lining up for his transfer. 8m net is huge, even for Brozo. Hope he settles for lesser.

8m net for brozo is a joke. He might get it just on account of being bosman, but he's not really worth it. He'd be one of the highest salaries in the premiership. As you point out, its comparable to Lukaku's salary at Chelsea.

Where did this 8m net pa demand come from? Its totally unrealistic. Currently Brozo's wages are 3.5m net (6.4m gross). Last I heard was that Inter were offering 5m net pa (9.2m gross, same as Hakan), while Brozo was asking 6m net (11m gross, same as Martinez who is the highest earner at Inter). That sounded fair, Brozo deserves 6m net. Not more, it would destroy Inter's wage structure.

Honestly there's so much confusion around Brozovic contract situation that i don't really know what Brozovic is actually asking for and what we're offering. Each source reports a different number. The issue is some media outlets include bonuses in their reported figures which makes it hard to understand the difference between the parties. Hopefully this is sorted soon, one way or another.

either way, though, he's on 4m net (approx) now, he's asking between 6 and 8m net depending on media sources. 6m net takes you to about £200k, 8m net takes you to about £300k a week.

That's a high earner. Comparable to Cavani, Aubameyand, Pogba, Martial, higher than Harry Maguire, Thiago, Salah, etc.

Absolutely. Even if we take the lowest reported figure in the media (6m net plus bonuses) that would make him the second highest earner at the club, along with Lautaro, and only behind Eriksen and Sanchez who could soon be out of the picture.

On the other hand, I don't feel like there are clubs lining up for his transfer. 8m net is huge, even for Brozo. Hope he settles for lesser.
I think that's why Brozovic camp keeps postponing meetings with Inter management. They're hoping for a lucrative offer from a top club so they can present it to Inter management in order to force their hand. So far it doesn't look like they have anything concrete.

What Il Drago said. It indeed might be they don't have a competing offer on the table yet. He wants to stay but also get the absolute maximum from Marotta.
