I'm not a fan of Dzeko but he would have buried that header. Anyway, worse things have happened in football full of heartbreak etc.
I have to say thanks to Inzaghi and all the respect in the world. He took a lot of shit from all of us here, newspapers and socials but never said a word and changed it around. Pep got lucky, but sometimes football is luck and money ;) we gave them a fight they won't forget, at least Pep will not. There has to be a winner and a looser and we lost. I don't want to think about the future just yet. Congratulations to City

I'm so fuckin sad and proud at the same time. This has been very shitty year for me so far and maybe it sounds stupid but feel like this win would at least make it some bit better. Oh well.

The goal line chances we had will haunt me. Inter should have won that game. They would have shocked the world too. Even though we were not expected to compete, the way it unfolded makes this one hurt.

Fuck city. They shouldn't have even been in CL this year.

Yes I’m sure a guy who’s scored 2 goals in 2023 would have buried that. As a matter of fact irrelevant argument cos he would not have even been in position to head the ball. Not a coincidence in 60mins he didn’t touch the ball once inside the opposition’s box

And Lukaku touched it twice in the box...

What I wouldn't give to get this idiot to do something a simple as tap a ball in without any interference. I'd happily take your shit for months but alas, your boy shat his pants and splashed his undies on the fan and we're the unfortunate recipients of all that crap now... So my point here is that we don't need to take more crap from you now. We've had enough last night.

Yeah the stadium is an Olympic stadium, I felt sorry for those who got central seats as they were too far away and the benches probably restrict their view.
It's too far from the city center, it's expensive to keep and it's large (the top 3 teams have like 45-55k stadiums)... Galatasaray has a new stadium just outside the city, but there's good infrastructure to get there and it's not really far away from downtown. The Olympic stadium is on the western outskirts of the city which isn't heavily populated iirc but perhaps a Turkish member can tell us more on that.

Atmosphere-wise, it didn't play that much part. Our guys were loud and proud. City fans didn't even bother to get into the stadium early enough. They barely even celebrated.
Yep, definitely too far. From the city center it took around an hour and a half using the UEFA fans shuttles to get to the stadium. After the game it was even worse - more than two hours. Never been to a UCL final before so cannot compare but it was logistic nightmare.

About the atmosphere - on TV it really depends on the broadcasters and how they use the microphones on the field. Our end did not stop singing except a few minutes after City scored. And that was the first time we heard them. But I agree that a stadium with a racing track should not be used for a final, let alone a stadium where at least half of the stadium is not covered.

If Lukaku started we’d have won it but it’s pointless arguing with you. Your football knowledge is already shambolic as it is, when you factor the agendas you have it goes into negative

We need to invest in the right Italian talent.

No more of that Gagliardini, Politano, Sensi trash.

The dude is 24 and doesn’t have anything going for him besides being Italian. He is the exact type of player we need to stay away from.
Honestly fuck italian talent we need the right talent period.... Wether it s chinese congolese american italian or german who cares...

Is there any indication that in the last 20+ years we had more success when signing italian talent rather than foreign? From the top of my head i dont think so.. But if anyone has data that proves otherwise i d love to see it...

If Lukaku started we'd lose 3-0.

If Lukaku started we'd win 5-0.

If Lukaku started, there would be no more wars.

You need to stop this vendetta against brehme, using Lukaku as the vehicle.

Consider this a warning.

Please show me where I once said we would lose 4-0 or 5-0?

I don't predict scorelines, ever. I think it'd a fools game. I try to provide realistic views on what might happen, but not to the point of scorelines. And yes, I was cautious about when we pulled Milan, and I was very cautious about when we pulled City, but I honestly can't think of a time I've ever predicted a scorelines in this forum.

I've posted appreciation towards some of the players. But I don't think you can walk away from that game and say all of our players were 10/10. Some players were good, some players were very mediocre. The overall result could have been much worse, but as I said, it sucks fucking ass that actually it's a game we could have won. And I think it's quite an interesting discussion to ask what changes we could have made to take this from might have won, to would have won. Don't you?

If the scorelines comment isn't targeted at me then fine and I apologise, but if you're gonna accuse me of it, show me where I did it?
I'm not targeting at you, I was quoting from some of the folks on this forum who wrote us off before the game even started.

I think we might have won it if Hakan & Barella showed up last night. Hakan has perhaps his worst game in an Inter short at the wrong time. All his touches and passes were terrible.

Yeah I agree. It's a shame, but as I said during and after the match, it's not really something Inzaghi can predict sadly

For me, these images sum up why we should not explore a further loan next season. His second stint at the club was poor and he capped it yesterday morning with a master stroke in poor positioning and poor finishing.

Up front, we need to go in a whole new direction with Lautaro being the only certainty. The rest of the strikers need to leave. The same can be said for our defence: Cordaz, Handanovic, D’Ambrosio, Bellanova, De Vrij should all be allowed to leave.

But Suning‘s finances and the last couple of transfer windows have shown me that not much is going to be new about the new season and that some of the old faces and mentioned names will be back.

They showed up big time yesterday. Our midfield was great absorbing that City pressure. City is after all the best team in the world currently so I wouldn't expect Barella and Hakan to show up like they do against Verona or Fiorentina.
