So guys what did u think of the Figo, Ibra, Suazo combination? Looked very impressive, u just got the feeling something will happen when one of the 3 got the ball. Also Deki looked good out there.

Walter Samuel, man of the match. :star:

Great game by Dacourt. :star:

Too bad that we gave them their two goals, Chivu's mistake and Adriano's nice header. :D

Man Utd are facing Chelsea after 4 days as their first official match this season. We're missing more than half of the team, and playing our supercup after 2-3 weeks.

It's not about the result, but Man Utd's midfield and forwards were playing like Ascoli, until Mancini started to play the youngsters. Well, that's my opinion.

Our defenders were more than solid, specially with Samuel's first-class tackles on C.Ronaldo. :star:

Our horrible players today: Adriano (worst player on the pitch) and Cruz.

And I almost forgot: Forza Maxwell! :star:

So a full strength man utd (only Scholes was missing) who basically won the Premier League with this eleven and are ahead in preparations are easily beaten by a Inter that was mixed with starters and subs/primaveras and are behind in preparations doesnt send out a message?

YES it does big time, the pitch clearly showed that today. No words need to be added.

Of course it does. It sends out the message that we are a strong team basicly. Not so much for the fact that we won but for the way we won, and that we missed many imortant players. We played excellent football. One could argue that we outplayed them in their own backyard which is very hard to do especially against a fanatical English crowd.

But how a team plays and how they a squad look on paper are two different things.

From the beginning of time Italian media and Juventus/Milan supporters always say at the start of a season that Inter have the best squad in the World. Only to at the end of the season(Except for last two years) say that, "even with all those players they still can't win, what losers". They say "we win with inferior players because we have that Juve heart and commitment and Inter are just losers". But the fact is many times Inter have bought players who are very good and have excellent potential but has not quite made it at other big clubs.

The point is there comes a time where how a player looks on paper is not as impressive as it used to be. For instance Adriano. Imagine having him on the bench three years ago, not that would be a sick sub to have. But today it's not quite as impressive. Don't get me wrong I think we have one of the best squads in the World but not the best.

The reason we're winning is becasue after calciopoli we now have a fair chance without having to worry about being cheated. And also sometimes a teams chemistry just clicks and they start performing wonders, which creates a winning mentality.

IMO it's like this. Italians need something to blame if Inter somehow do manage to win the title with a band of foreigners. How would that look, if they beat the good old Italian teams? It can't be because the foreigners put in all their blood sweat and tears into it and work hard to achieve results. No it has to be because they bought every player in the World and basicly just bought the title. It takes all the praise away from the players who deserve it and just credit the money spent.

If you take a look at England the same thing used to said about Arsenal. They said Arsenal has by far the best squad in the England and it would be a great feat if any ot the other "English" teams managed to take the title from them. But then Chelsea came along and it took all the pressure of Arsenal. Even after Chelsea won two premiership titles in two years the players were not getting the praise the deserved and constantly had to defend the fact the club had bought a bunch of players with Russian oil money.

had to defend the fact the club had bought a bunch of players with Russian oil money.

The difference is Inter buy foreigners that have been raised in Italy.

Zanetti has been in Italy for ages, never played in any other European league. Cordoba, Burdisso, Crespo (Italian star), Adriano, Suazo, Recoba, Samuel etc etc, they are just like any other Italian player.

Not many people knew Cruz and Maicon before we indroduced them to Europe. Zlatan and Chivu were bought from Italian clubs. JC only played in Italy (in Europe). And let's not forget few Italian legends like Materazzi and Toldo.

Chelsea? They do the opposite. They buy foreign stars, we produce them.

Sadly, all what I've said doesn't matter to those who criticize us.

In friendlies, when you win or lose you still cant take too much out of it.

However, you could see even before this started that it was much more than a friendly. Inter.it were talking it up pretty big, so were other sites 'Italian champs Vs English champs'. Mancio even did something ive never seen him do, he even labled a friendly as a game where 'we must honour the shirt' I knew we were in for a spirited performance and we got that.

Man U with their best team, with weeks more pre season than us too not to mention we didnt have our 4 latino guys. We did something we rarely do under mancini and that was dictate the play (1st half) we sat back, kept posession and just passed the ball around.

Suazo+Ibra+Figo were amazing. Suazo's goals may have been just finishes but seriously, to get himself in that position and then to finish so well past VDS was great. his runs gave others so much space to go into. Solari deserves a good mention cause the guy tries his heart out. Shame he rarely gets any time, but its always good to know his there to play LCM.

Dacourt, Matrix were stars as usual. Stankovic 2nd half captain was fukcing superb, made tackles that led us too goals and kept Ronaldo decently quite on the right.

Maxwell wsa given the amazingly tough job of CR9, i was  over that matchup, only cause it was great too see max given responsibility like that, he handled it pretty well.

um not much more to say other then Samuel = man of the match. good job lads

forgot to mention a record crowd for a friendly of 74,000 were there too see us win ;) felt like a CL night did it not.
