Andrew Bailey got hurt... luckily it's not seriously career ending, but that sure puts a thorn on us. Thankfully Beane stocked up on Balfour and Fuentes as insurance.

Going to see Dr. James Andrews is never good. Fuentes should be good insurance, not sure if I'd count on Balfour.

5 of our starting 9 are on a one year deal. There weren't many good bats to find in free agency outside of Adrian Beltre, and even overpaying him would be a ripoff. Berkman is way past his prime. Matsui, Crisp, Ellis, Willingham, and DeJesus are on the last year. If they suck or really blow it, then we have nothing to lose and we'll just homegrow the talent we have in the farm system, adding someone from free agency in the process.

Well.. the season starts in less than 24 hours. Dodgers vs. Giants to kick it off... and Go Dodgers! Only cause I hate the Giants. Of course go A's!!! hope to see the injuries look minimal. I'm glad no injuries were added this past week.

Haha the Mets already having a roller coaster season! After getting hammered by the Marlins in their opening game, they went on to win the next 3, 2 against Florida and the other spanking a very good Phillies team....only to lose the remaining 2 against the Phillies. So after all of that, they are only 3-3...

Speaking of which? what's the Mets roster situation like Vito? I'm not up to date on the wheeling and dealing that went on during the off season...

I don't really follow baseball that much...my roommate in college was a huge Mets fan, so he kinda got me into it a bit. I do know that they got a new GM and Manager this season.

Sandy Alderson is the new GM, Coaster should recognize this name and their new Manager is former Astros and Angels Manager, Terry Collins. Not much of a career, management booted him out of Houston and the players booted him out of Anaheim...

They released John Maine, Sean Green and Chris Carter. Santana and Bay are on the DL. Their 5-man rotation is really weak: Mike Pelfrey, Jon Niese, R.A. Dickey, Chris Young and Chris Capuano...

Sorry to say... I hate the Mets, you already took Art Howe, Kevin Appier and Rick Peterson from us in the past. Funny thing is, I had a bet last season with a Mets that the A's would have a better record than the Mets, and even though they were up by as many as 7 games at the all star break, they collapsed beautifully. The damn thing is, he never paid up :mad::mad:.

Dickey is a solid pitcher. I think he's underrated, but I'm not a fan of fat payrolls like the Mets, and still losing more games than my low priced A's  Yes I am familiar with Alderson from the great history. Good hire though, can't do worse than that loser Minaya.

Love it!!! :D.

A's are struggling early, but that's April and May for you. Can't believe KOOZ is so error prone. Lots of WTF moments so far. I expected good defense and pitchign with hitting struggling, but somehow that bullpen is sucking ass right now.

EDIT: Manny Ramirez retires... such a sad last two years to his career. Such a promising 2008... and early 2009, but so sad.

And FUCK... this hurts losing to the twins with no offense. Brett Anderson had a great performance today.

Mets are going to suck for a while. Wonder if they trade Reyes this season, as they need to just completely start over. Probably a good idea to focus on getting some young pitching, as that rotation even with a declining Santana is terrible. Heck, I didn't even know Capuano was still in the league.

The A's pretty much stole the game from Mark Buehrle and the White Sox. Buehrle pitches two hits and no runs over 8 innings, yet the closer blows it!!!

Kurt Suzuki later hits a HR in the top of the 10th to take the lead and win. :D.

I bet you like we're beating AL Central teams right now.

I love how we stole the series from the dirty Black Sox. We'll see what happens, but the offense has been dead. haven't been the most happy with them.

Let's Go Oakland!
