It had to be done tbh. We have Naga who's playing well and we just signed Pereira. Plus we have eternal JZ.
With only those 3, it will be a very tough decision for Strama to leave any out, especially if Pereira plays like he should. Keeping Maicon would just make it more complicated for rotation.

Now if Branca can get rid of Jonathan and use M'Baye as 4th choice back, then that'd be perfect.

We may regret selling Maicon because I think he's still going to boss it and prove he's still very, very, very good. BUT, Inter already signed Pereira so..........

It was time to let him go.

Stop bitching and pay the man some respect for the GOAT he used to be.

Fans can be so fickle. All last year people are running off about his laziness and lack of effort, that his heart's not in it. Now the tears come. The truth is he has been an excellent loyal servant to us.

This video is special. Left foot, right foot, the closeness with his teammates. He was clearly such a valued member of the group as both a player and a man. Despite repeated advances by all of Europe's top clubs including Real Madrid and Chelsea he stayed with us for his best years. Highlights include 1.50 where Mou runs down to the corner to celebrate his winner against Siena, concussion against Barcelona at 3.45, THAT goal against Juve and the LEGENDARY celebration where he pledged to star at the club.

A player and a man who gave everything at the club. During the treble year it was his performances, along wiith Cambiasso and Julio Cesar, which most seemed to sum up the sense of destiny that special side had. A conviction, a belief, a special emotion. Maicon Douglas Sisenando gave everything to the club and we will never forget him.

Grazie.

Noone can convince him (read:pajo) that isn't good to have two offensive minded full backs. To have Maicon and Pereira like starters is a blessing that very small number of clubs and national team have.

And maybe even biger blessing is to have back ups like Zanetti and Nagatomo who can cover both defending flanks plus Javier can play in the midlle and Naga can easily help to atack. That means our back up full backs won't be on the bench all the time if startes will catch good form, they can play on other positions.

Strama is convinced that Maicon is the best in the world and we all know that should only convince him to play like the best in the world. With pricks like Cassano and stuborns like Sneijder are capable to give 110% I don't see one single reason why Maicon wouldn't!

why bitch about it when the player himself wanted to leave, he's happier now ... I still think it's for the better. For both sides. All the best of luck to Maic!

2 legends leave the club in 2 consecutive days :(

he had one year left on his contract, he didn't resign we would've gotten fuck all and had to pay his massive wages for another year which means he wouldn't be motivated since he wants to leave. Meh it's sad to see him go but it's the best we could do in that situation.

We should have squeezed bit more, but i guess 6 mils is ok. (it;s 4 + 2 bonuses, at least my friend from fcintenews said so). It's simple, he had to go, we get around 14 mils considering his wages were 8 mils in gross payment.

6m€ is a lousy figure too, but there was simply no market for Maicon so here we are. We can always remember the past and the figures RM was ready to pay to get Maicon, but in the end that's pretty useless talk.

Great player but the declining interest giving his all on the pitch simply reduced Maicon's overall output for the team in long-term (for example one season). At least we've been able to reduce our salary budget like hell this summer.

La Grande :proud:

It is going to be weird seeing Inter without Maicon and Cesar. In terms of quality, Handa and Pereira may do a better job; but I will miss their passion, those emotions and epic celebrations. End of an era, here's looking forward to a more glorious one.

Fuck City ... is 8M to much for them now? It's the managements fault though for not standing firm on the asking price...If they didn't want to pay then he could have stayed...oh well...
