This piece will give Spaletti a chance to pull maximum from this team.

In Spain - Modric is seriously considering leaving Real Madrid. Inter prepared a sensational offer to seduce the Croatian, a 4-year contract to more than 10 million per season. But Real does not take the offer seriously, they are convinced that Inter would not respect its financial fair play constraints. Moreover, from Madrid they say that there is no pact to facilitate the departure of Modric from the Bernabeu. The operation is led by the agent of Modric and Pedja Mijatovic, who for the duration of the World Cup has caused Modric to leave Madrid to move to Milan.

IF HE REALLY WANTS TO MOVE HERE! REAL ARE FUCKED! KEEPING A PLAYER AGAINST THEIR WILL IS MADNESS!
they are not taking us seriously?! Hahaha ok,keep an unsatisfied player...that'should do wonders for your team morale

In Madrid for weeks they were all certain: #Modric was supposed to be today in Valdebebas. Everything was planned with the company, the Spanish newspapers know, but they showed confusion: everyone was waiting for him today. Expected? In the Croatian entourage there are those who would swear not.

I was checking the Real Madrid page on reddit. The Spanish journalist who reported what you mentioned is considered very reliable . 1st Tier.

Skybet has lowered the odds from 2:1 (33%) to 7:2 (22%).

They lowered the odds again within the same day to 4:1 (20%). I don't really get why tbh. Nothing made public indicates something to the contrary. They must have insider info.

Come on man, you know betting odds are based on the market as much as anything. If a ton of people are betting on Modric to Inter (i.e. general fans), they need to push the odds down further to ensure they make money.

Yeah 4-year contract is a bit of a stretch for sure. Though Modric probably ages really well, I'd guess he will slow down after 2-3 years so the last 1-2 years could be him being not a instant starter.

It's just that getting a player like Modric, a real superstar, one of the bests in the world, is so rare at Inter that people would accept this easily here. He's not marketable at all, compared to CR7, so we would have to just bite our teeth and accept all the cost it takes. It would be also a statement that Inter is back in business

This tax thing for foreigners though is another aspect why we might be able to offer him a 10m€ annual contract. Pay 100k for all the taxes for the year if you haven't been at Italy for 9 years in the last 10 => first two years of Modric we would be able to use this and it would equal about 5m€ annual salary. This law came effective this year so I think football clubs start to use this more for foreign signings?

What ever do you mean?

Someone once described Luka Modric as looking like a little boy dressed up as a witch.

I think that’s still probably the best description I’ve heard to date.

I know it's also affected by betting patterns, but did people start betting less all of a sudden on us, that it went down?

Usually they give you better odds of success (less return) if more people bet on you.

So people are betting against the move if the odds go down. Or up? How do you say it, the probability goes down anyways. 2:1 -> 7:2 -> 4:1

Yeah, we are in a position where every world class player is welcomed with open arms if one wants to play for us.

Suning do. And i think they want this deal to happen even more than Spalletti or Ausilio. I can't imagine Spalletti or Ausilio having Modric on their lists when they started discussing possible midfield targets. They probably started considering Modric when Suning made it clear they wanted a response to Juve for Ronaldo.

Btw not bad for someone who's not marketable at all.

Luka Modric takes over Cristiano shirt sales mantle at Real Madrid

There may be images of Karim Benzema plastered throughout the store but it's the Croatian who seems to be getting the most attention from Madridista shoppers.

Comparing Modric to CR7 is like making a choice between hiring a Stanford sociologist and a Stanford sociologist who also writes novel about love. Cr7 is known to non-soccer communities while Modric is a standard of excellency within a bounded community. If Sunning can invent something commercial from Modric, that would require a lot of creativity. Meanwhile with CR7, rube cunts enjoy some innate values and also inherit the results from previous social articulations of his image.

‘MODRIC WILL STAY IN MADRID’

Real Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui has no doubt that Luka Modric will stay at the club this summer.

"Luka is a player that I am passionate about and I love,” Lopetegui said after Madrid’s 3-1 pre-season victory over Juventus.

“I think he'll be pleased with what he's going to get from me. He will be happy playing football at Real Madrid.

“Luka is a Real Madrid player and I have no doubt that he will stay here. We have enjoyed it and we will continue enjoying it without any doubt.”

Well, Modric will help our revenues indirectly, by helping us on the pitch. So there's that.

Sounds like a desperate sales call.

Suning plan in depth:

They're seducing him for a long term salary plan, 4 years contract at Inter for 10+ m which he'll only spend 2-3 years at Inter and then they'll offer him another handsome contract to play in China for a couple more years, ensuring his income secured for a not bad period of time.

Tbh I don't see what RM has to offer better than this? playing with his Croatian team mates in a new adventure at Italy, securing a hugh wage on a very long period considering his age..

This is serious shit from Suning, no man in his full sanity would refuse such offer at his age as a footballer. I mean what will RM do to him? They'll never offer a 3 years extension with a higher wage for a 33 years old, and if they do they might force selling him in 2 years for peanuts to low profile club with a very low wage.

If he can give us a good 2 and a half years i.e. with a trophy and establishing us as a top team in Italy and Europe he will have paid back his price two fold.
