Still, not as big as Cristiano Zanetti - Fabio Capello at Jube.

Capello wasn't the one approach Zanetti I believe.

MORATTI BETWEEN TWO IDEAS
BENCH FOR STRAMA, DESK FOR LEONARDO

The president: "Bravo coach, is his confirmation (for next year) linked to the third spot? That's one way to look at it..."
France is certain: the Brazilian wants the Nerazzurri.

Milan - Before we begin, let's look back. Because it's worth to recall (again) that phrase spoken by Massimo Moratti on June 4, 20111 when Leonardo was still on the Inter bench. "Leonardo was very good as a coach, however, I continue to consider him more like a director," said Moratti a few days after winning the Italian Cup against Palermo. "I think he would be a great director, because he has visions of things and situations and can put those together." A few days later, Leo went to PSG. Now a year later, he could return to Inter because he is in the clear. But in a suit and tie.

Too much pressure This story is not new to anybody but it is taking shape. The last piece of the puzzle was put together by RMC.fr, which recorded a conversation between Leonardo and PSG president, Nasser El Khelaifi where the Brazilian said that "I would love to work and continue to do so without so much pressure." In short, PSG are being impatient. The French press also bemoans of the prolonged absence of Leo who currently would be in Brazil for transfer market reasons. But everyone is wondering if this is true or not because the rumors about the increasingly large crack between him and PSG continues to spread daily. And in France, people believe that he would definitely return to Inter also because of the will of his girlfriend Anna Billò. And the rest, the eventual decision, will be up to the desire of Massimo Moratti.

Offer and thought Certainly, the relationship between Massimo Moratti and Leonardo has always been good despite his sudden escape to France which put the Inter bench in chaos. So here is the picture of the situation at the moment and according to France-Milan sources: if he is leaving, Leonardo would push for a return to Inter. Moratti would think about it purely managerial and not for the bench.

Strama In all of this, meanwhile, Massimo Moratti has another thing to worry about: his coach Andrea Stramaccioni. "The numbers say that we are now in a better position to fight for the third spot but the arithmetic also depends on the results, so we'll see. The game in Udine was a really good test, very good by the coach above all, and the players who expressed themselves the way the coach wanted. Then again, with their quality they knew how to give more."

Motivations and decisions There is a string that ties Strama and the third place together. "Is his future tied to the preliminaries of the Champions League? That is one way to look at it but it's always a good to set objectives because it's a motivation to do better." Moratti is reflecting on how to prepare for next season. With Strama or not. With Leonardo or not.

Nice idea. I like it.

Moratti making some VERY wise moves on the market. The acquisitions from Udine, Leo in an anchor role directing strategy. While he is just there for the cheque book.

Haters stand up, you're getting your wish.

MORATTI-LEO: CONTACT

The idea: to remake Inter from the desk.
The former Inter coach will leave Paris. The president is tempted a return as a director.

Milan – They have never stopped hearing from one another. For a few weeks now, their conversations started to have a key word: return. Massimo Moratti has always had a soft spot for Leonardo and it’s never broken. So much so that already the last season, there were voices on the hypothesis of him coming back to the club. Beyond the cordial relationship, these two over the past few months have had discussions on the hottest topics including the transfer market of course.

Return The appreciation of Massimo Moratti for Leonardo started to come to realization just before Christmas of 2010 when the Inter president was the one that pushed for the appointment of former Milan player as Inter coach after Rafael Benitez. And if it was not for the call of the Qatari sheikhs, the Brazilian would still be in Milan, the black and blue side. Let’s not forget that Leo left Inter was because of his desire to change his role. Or rather, to return to the work that had formed him a long internship at Milan from 2002 to 2009 and then Adriano Galliani called on him to replace Carlo Ancelotti as coach.

Screen-Shot-2013-03-08-at-8.05.10-PM.png

Current Inter management

President: Massimo Moratti
Vice president: Angelomario Moratti, Rinaldo Ghelfi
President’s assistant: Stefano Filucchi
Managing director: Marco Fassone
Technical director: Marco Branca
Sporting director: Piero Ausilio
Youth academy director: Roberto Samaden
General secretary and organizational director: Umberto Marino
Chief of medical staff: Franco Combi
Team manager: Ivan Cordoba

Mou wind Now fate has it that Al Thani has made up his mind to bring to Paris the pair of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jose Mourinho. The appointment of the coach from Setubal guarantees difficulty for Leonardo although the two have always had a friendly relationship.

Nostalgia In this context, it is easy to understand how the Italian-Brazilian director appears to be very receptive to the signals coming from the black and blue president. This season of transition is not bringing the desired results and so Massimo Moratti is considering the idea of strengthening his management team with a proven man, one that has his confidence. Certainly Leonardo has many necessary qualities to turn the page of a club that is struggling to change its sink after the glory of the treble season.

The present At this time the conditions are not right to foresee any further changes at Inter. The current management team has Marco Branca as technical director and Piero Ausilio as sporting director. Clearly a Leonardo comeback would see them working side by side again. But we must stress that the actual state of affairs suggests no revolutions in Corso Vittorio Emanuele. Surely the feeling between Inter president Massimo Moratti and the Brazilian director is the signal that could give us news regardless of whether or not Inter can achieve the goal of qualifying for next season’s Champions League, considered by Moratti as the priority. Andrea Stramaccioni still enjoys the full trust of his discoverer or Massimo Moratti and that is why the coach is not in question. However, one thing is certain: everyone is under exam these days at Inter. The recent statements from the president were also directed at the players. The wind of change is likely to lead to all corners of Appiano Gentile.

I'm all for replacing Branca with Leonardo. Branca has been so many years at technical director's post that it would be good to see some changes, fresh air and ideas etc.

One fact is that despite the given resources, Branca hasn't exactly excelled at his role since treble year.

Totally another thing is how relevant this Leonardo out of PSG rumor is. If it's only drawn from the rumor of CR+Mou to PSG, then I wouldn't pay that much attention to it.

I think the Leonardo-leave rumors are build on the "he's leaving for 90% this summer" statement of a PSG staff member/close person.

If there is truth in this rumors, than we got to take care of Leonardo. I think we won't be the only team in europe, that could need a first class DS. He has high competence in his work, seems to be connected, smart and good relation to Moratti (with him accepting his knowledge to hold back from daily buisness). Might be the right man to bring in some change. Maybe i'm still influenced by the player leonardo, but he has some credit at me. A sportsman whos only fault were wrong colours.

But i don't get, why PSG should make a change?! Don't believe that Mourinho is going there anyway. And one single statement, that Q-owners don't like, shouldn't be a serious problem that leads to a leave.

I like leonardo and i know he's vastly aknowledged in brazilian market. But is he the right person given our financial situation right now?
We know brazilian player nowadays mostly overpriced.
If he considered fail in psg with its unlimited transfer fund, how would he do well at inter?
Given our current financial situation i'm more like someone like pierpaolo marinoto run the project (Too bad it won't happen i think).
