but no defender so easily exploitable should be crucial... the problem with ranocchia is that we expect him to be the next samuel, but realistically, he'l be the next materazzi - i.e. he's not the defense leader (in so far as someone like samuel, thiago silva, nesta), but rather, the number 2 (cordoba, materazzi are good examples recently).

Ranocchia is easily exposed against pace. Knowing that means all you need to do is play a fast player...
