Very surprising, in a good way. I honestly thought the 6th midfielder would be an aging player on a free transfer (i.e. Pereyra). Having a good core in midfield is important, so I'm excited about this signing. It also gives us a much different player than anything else we have - a good dribbler and a left-footer.

Marotta won the Scudetto with Matri and Vucinic as strikers, as long as the midfield dominated enough. Maybe he is replicating that philosophy...with worse defence and better attack than his previous Juve.

Yes, for as long as I can remember there's been THAT midfielder that is just here to complete the squad but as someone who kinda likes Asllani, having him ,Samardzic and Mkhi/Frattesi ready to be subbed on is just crazy. Both Samardzic and Frattesi have goals in their feet so maybe we don't need another 25 goals striker, maybe we needed two additionnal 5-10 goals midfielders in Frattesi and Samardzic and a 15 goals striker in Thuram.

I hope we can just quickly sign him and try to move on Balogun. If we can get him too, in terms of decreasing the average age of the players while still getting quality players I really think our mercato would be a 8 to 10/10. That supposed we actually get a fucking GK lol.
