Capocannoniere (potentially with 30+ goals), Scudetto, Champions League, Copa America...it's asking a lot, but would all of those give Lautaro a legitimate Ballon d'Or shout?

Vieri was never healthy 3 seasons in a row.

During Baggio and van Basten time teams would normally score under 60 goals a season, quite an impossible task to reach 20 for players, let alone three years on the trot. Van Basten wasn't far off but got injured frequently.


Shevchenko is an interesting one, yeah, but Milan wasn't always as competitive when he signed and was more in his prime and his numbers started to decrease when they signed Inzaghi and they were sharing goals.


Batistuta on the other hand was a genuine monster and the only focal point of attack but his 20+ consecutive seasons came in his final seasons with Fiorentina plus a 4th with Roma who had an impressive attacking line and scored tons.

Even if you make this number 15 goals or more, you'll miss out some great scorers (like Trezeguet that you mentioned or Abel Balbo) and the list would be modern heavy.

What you said about VB is interesting, - even though he wasn't there anymore I just saw that Milan won 94 Serie A with ... 36 goals scored in 34 games.

Another one I am surprised to not see in this ranking is Signori. He had 26, 23, 17 and then 24 between 93 and 96. Close.

Lauti has been doing great this season so far. He deserves it really.
As you guys mentioned, he is not the penalty taker, if he does, his goals were much higher.

I believe he hasn't reach to his full potential yet. He can do much better and score much more.

I'd be keen to agree actually. He seems to be evolving into the Benzema/Kane archetype while increasing his goal tally. Could have a real monster on our hands when he's 28/29.

Interesting retrospective for sure, so many of his early goals were from outside the box.

11 falling/sliding goals
1 header that he didn't land on his feet
1 falling only after shooting

most of these goals happened when Inzaghi was coach. Maybe he told him to trust his instinct and always go for goal or smth

I think Martinez is going to bring joy to us for years and years. Getting better and it seems that his qualities in other aspects of the game would open a possibility to play him lower on the field if and when he loses his pace. Intelligent passes and great tackles in every game. I suspect he would do very well in midfield in his latter years.

i don't change him with Haland honestly. It's not only the goals but the leadership, the team-work, the high-press etc..

It's great to say that i have the best striker in the world in my team and i have seen all the evolution since he came. Couldn't say the same about Zanetti as i was too young when he was signed.

I think it's more down to him being a target man under Inzaghi and having Barella often look for him in the box allowing him to finish with instinct/ with one touch. I remember a volley-goal against Atalanta coming from a Barella cross. Or the volley in the coppa SF against Milan.

Usually with Conte we'd send those passes to Lukaku, now we play direct crosses alternating between the far post, near post and penalty spot. I love it, we're driving the defenders and the GKs crazy with our movements.
