I wish we had made captain Dimarco-Bastoni-Barella, who are not so obsessed about money...

Giving him 12mln salary will alert the rest to ask for the same, or at least for bigger salaries when the time for renewal comes. Similar to Dumfries.

Just so I can be clear, in our current state, this dude is not a 12 million salary player 😂 if we were the City boys it’s a no brainer with money to burn, but if we had money to burn would he even be our first option?

I’d give him the 9 with performance related bonuses like I saw some suggest earlier and the bonuses have to be like ‘score a knockout goal in CL to advance’ for €€€ or so. Guy goes missing in goal for 2 and half months like a serial killer between victims.

Sell him and get Dovbyk & Scamacca

Thuram
Dovbyk
Scamacca
Taremi

But he will not want to go to a Premiershit club. Only City can be atractive and they don't need him at all.

We aren't going to give him 12m, take it easy.

Also, I assume he's not going to consider 12m to be the lowest number he can go to and if not accepted, he starts looking elsewhere. Don't believe that's gonna happen.

Agent is just doing his job. He even said he hasn't talked to anyone else because the will of the player is to stay at Inter. So of course the agent need to try to play hardball here, throwing these big numbers up in the air because he doesn't have shit tons of leverage, because his client has been very clear to everyone he wants to stay at Inter.

The leverage comes from Lautaro's performance as a captain leading the team to a historical 2nd star, capocannoniere award and MVP of the league award (and of course the continued growth as a leader and as a player). That's the only thing the agent has "against" the club in the negotiations. When the player's will is set, agent needs to play with the cards he's dealt with. Can't invent cards out of nothing (look for offers from other clubs).

So, everybody, giga mega ultra chill. Just like I said with Zhang-Oaktree, just chill! :D

He even said he hasn't talked to anyone else because the will of the player is to stay at Inter.

It's all just a very insincere PR spiel. A balancing counter-weight for the actual meat and potatoes of his statements. Don't get me wrong, Lautaro very well may wish to stay here (for the time being at least), but his agent says those things only because he absolutely needs to as otherwise the actual meat and potatoes of his statements would come off as raw unfiltered greed.

I don't know of a player's agent that gives as many statements and interviews in modern football as this Lautaro's agent does. It's a bit too much really, especially for someone who is a captain of a club in extreme turmoil. Imagine if Zanetti's agent was pulling this crap every other day in media back in 2000s. Nevermind that, let's go back to recent times - imagine if Handa's agent was doing this while he was by far the best GK in the league.

There is also a clashing paradox of perceived and actual value here. I am absolutely assured that not a single big boy club right now wants Lautaro as their starting striker, he simply shit the bed in europe one too many times recently to be taken seriously. Hell, even the EPL fanboys who have a passing knowledge of us at best by now know and universally agree that Lautaro is a terrible finisher, just look at any forum or messageboard online. He is not in the same league as Haaland and Mbappe and it won't magically become true just because his agent keeps saying it.

But if we don't sort this out soon, a lot more than just big boy clubs will come knocking next summer when his value goes significantly down with only a single year left on the contract.

The more we wait one's value deteriorates accordingly, quick. No time left to chill. Let him play his hide and seek game elsewhere.

You call "chill" on Dumfries case too. See how it goes? Either a scrap 15m now or leaving for free. They, player and agent, dont care how much Inter'll get, just how much flows into their bank account. They can simply expire the contract to get more bonus.

People will justify this by saying the agent is doing his job, but fuck that if he is doing it and at the same time it is detrimental to the club like it is now with all these rumors suddenly emerging in a very delicate time mid-ownership change. Wanda nara was also doing her job, defending the interests of her husband in a very particular way going to all those tv shows and gossiping, and we all know how damaging that was. At the end of the day if you want to be greedy, be greedy in private meetings with mgmnt, no need to take it public and try to amplify the pressure even more.

And just to remind people, this is nothing new with lautaro and how his agents behave. He was openly flirting with barca a few years back, until we didn't give him what he wanted.

I mean 12 mil is too much considering Barella is on 7 mil. Some of you guys really need to take newspapper shit with a pinch of salt and stop hating on players based on it tho. Its usually bullshit.
10 mil is already high enough but considering circumstances he might reach that. Agent is absolutely not doing him any favors if he really keeps inflating the requested salary and Lautaro actually wants to continue with Inter.
Then again he still has 2 years left so as far as Inter is concerned there is no real urgency to cave in to ridiculous demands (if true).

Lautaro Martinez: "I am on the same level as Kylian Mbappé, Erling Haaland, Harry Kane & Robert Lewandowski. I have nothing to envy, the numbers and the trophies say so. There are champions who have won fewer trophies than me."

Comparison between them since 21/22 when Lautaro Martinez became Inter's main man

Source from Understat

- Erling Haaland (Bundesliga & Prem): 85 goals & 20 assists in 7301 mins = 1.29 goal/assist per 90
- Kylian Mbappé (in Ligue 1): 85 goals & 29 assists in 8019 mins = 1.17 goal/assist per 90
- Robert Lewandowski (Bundesliga & La Liga): 76 goals & 18 assists in 8529 mins = 0.99 goal/assist per 90
- Harry Kane (Prem & Bundesliga): 83 goals & 20 assists in 9497 mins = 0.98 goal/assist per 90
- Lautaro Martinez (Serie A): 66 goals & 12 assists in 7588 mins = 0.93 goal/assist per 90

You guys are steering this into the wrong direction, this isn't about players quality or him wanting the 12 mil which isn't true imo (he ain't that delusional, that would be like indirectly asking to get sold).

It's all about his agent public modus operandi to try and get whatever sum they want (probably around 9 or 10 mil)

Yeah, for now it's just media rumours. As usual, agents do what they used to, they done nothing but want a large cut.
I think the agent are aiming at the range of 9m. 8m + 1m bonus perhaps reachable deal for Lautaro.
Anything above 10m would practically destroy the wage hierarchy.
The report about a minimum 12m net is ridiculous, this would significantly increase the cost of the squad. Our directors has done well and will likely prefer to keep it under control.

He still has two years left on his contract, so if the club decides to sell him, this is his last chance to earn a good price. It will be too late next year.
Besides if the new ownership looking to balance the book quickly, Lautaro will guarantee a large capital gain which most likely turn our P/L to positive.

I don't know what agent is aiming, but I've read some rumors that he already refused 9mln. Could be false of course, but the truth is this renewal is stalling for quite time so far.

Romano mentioned the stalemate as well.

Imo that is not a behavior of someone who sees himself long term in this club. Cos even if we give him 10 mil or whatever in two or three years time, he is being sold 100%. There will be almost no room for further salary improvement with a future deal.

Today, I read one translated from Tuttosport material, where they say that Inter management is disappointed by recent comments from Lautaro's agent. According to them Inter's offer was 8mln, while he ask for 10+.
So, maybe there is still chance to meet on 9. But, I'm not positive about this one.

These statements are a bit too much, comparing yourself to others or even putting yourself in the pedestal.

Cringe to say the least.

Amateur hour.

This could all have been avoided if Lautaro said to his agent to never ever talks numbers.

Just keep doing whatever everyone is doing, the same old generic dumb stuff to fill pages on a newspaper "we are happy here, we are close, just some small details".

Most of the english teams can pay him.

If I'm not mistaken, during one of his latest interviews, Lautaro said that his next goal is the CL trophy.

Frankly, if he wants to win it at any cost, there are other clubs with higher chances.

I would not blame him if he leaves. Just hope he does not act like a dick and make all Inter fans to hate him.
