However, it is now looking increasingly likely that all games for the foreseeable future will be played behind closed doors thus meaning the game could be played on Sunday instead of holding out until Monday as the conditions will be the exact same.

Now Agnellis only way to get he's money is to postpone the match at May. See how the match will get postponed and we will see no Inter- Sassuolo or Juve Inter, thanks to this bastard that will find an agreemnt at the last minute before the game to postpone it

Serious question: What was the reason to postpone the 2 coppa italia games? What's the diffrence between today and in 3 days? We are only wasting time here.

The whole point was exactly to waste time in a pathetic attempt to avoid confronting the problem for a little bit longer.

It's essentially the grown-up version of waiting until the last minute to hand in a university project, getting an extension at the cost of a -10% deduction, and even then starting the project the night before it's due.

In my experience, incompetent bureaucrats tend to opt for a "do nothing and hope the problem eventually goes away by itself" approach in moments of crisis. And if I've learned anything in my near 20 years following this club/league, it's that the Lega Serie A, FIGC and Italian leaders/politicians in general, definitely fall into this category of incompetent bureaucrats.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not asking them to develop a vaccine for COVID-19 or anything, but even a clown.. could've done a better job handling the impact of the virus upon the league.

I hope this Marotta vs Juve turns is the second coming of the greatest drama of all time which is WWF vs WCW: McMahon - Bischoff.

Revolved around another fixed and corrupt organization. Sounds about right.

Or the 9th, same time. You know, just in case Agnelli can still make money on it.

There is still nothing set in stone, at all.

nah im sure they will find a reason to avoid playing, as always. 3 days before Juve Milan they wanted to play without fans. Till the last minute everything can happen.

with all this pause we are having, i hope we can get again the same form we had at the season start.

Marotta: 'Closed doors only way to finish the season'

Inter general manager Beppe Marotta says playing behind closed doors is “the only way to finish the league” in the aftermath of the postponed Serie A fixtures.

Italian football has been thrown into chaos due to the rapid spread of the Coronavirus over the last several weeks, with over 2,000 confirmed cases of the disease throughout Italy. Matches have been postponed depending on the location of the home side, and this has led to in fighting amongst the teams in the league. A meeting was held today in Rome in order to resolve the fixture crisis. Inter’s general manager Marotta spoke after the conclusion of the meeting, and said balance needs to be restored.

“The right harmony was restored in a time of great difficulty for the country, we need to be aware of the very serious health problems in our sphere, within football,” Marotta told reporters outside the CONI headquarters.

“The attempt is to complete the championship with the utmost regularity, without creating a competitive imbalance, but as you can see the scenario changes constantly.

We are waiting for a new government decree, so we can travel on sight. Behind closed doors is the only way to finish the league in light of the situation and the restrictions that the government are rightly adopting.

The council ratified the proposal of the 20 clubs to resume suspended games, this is the solution of the Lega.

“There is one slot difference between the end of the week, with the suspended games, then the Lega will communicate the dates.

“Juve-Inter? It can be played on Sunday or Monday.” > Seems that Marotta - Agnelli 1-0 so far, they won`t get money OR fans in that filthy stadium.

What about scheduling Inter - Sampdoria first? A new date for Inter’s postponed match with Sampdoria was not discussed during this afternoon’s Lega Serie A council meeting according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.

It now appears that Inter will instead play their most recently postponed league fixture against Juventus this coming weekend and the Sassuolo match it is taking the place of will be played in mid-week in the middle of May.The report goes on to add that new dates for the Coppa Italia semi final second legs which were both postponed have not been discussed either.

This is getting more ridiculous than the infamous Libertadores final.

Let's follow them and play all the games in Buenos Aires.

Respected Italian football journalist Marco Bellinazzo believe that Lega Serie A have shown up their own incompetence with their handling of the current situation.Nine Serie A fixtures have been postponed in the past two weeks and postponements of the Coppa Italia semi final second legs were added to the growing list of postponements yesterday and today. These postponements have come as a result of the Coronavirus epidemic the country is currently facing. There are now in excess of 2500 confirmed cases of the virus in Italy making Italy comfortably the worst affected European nation.

“Italian football has once again demonstrated its incompetence in the face of health emergencies of this level,” he remarked in an interview with Italian radio station Radio Punto Nuovo earlier on this evening.“The president who endorsed the solution like that of last weekend has not done their job well because if Inter end up in the Coppa Italia and Europa League finals, they’ll not have the opportunity to play Serie A games.”Bellinazzo then shared his belief that those responsible are unlikely to face any consequences for their actions which have turned the league into something of a laughing stock in the past few weeks: “Given we are in Italy I doubt there will be any consequences.”

He then said he thinks there are two simple solutions that could be adopted to sort this situation out once and for all.“The solution is very simple. Either the league is stopped entirely and no trophies are award for this year or games have to be played behind closed doors.”

Fucking preach

This.

And the owners are responsible too. They've been adamant in refusing to play behind closed doors. They somehow think the problem will go away by postponing the games. No, it won't go away fast enough. We have a deadline for the season and that's called EURO2020. They can't add many dates to the calendar, the calendar is ending for this season.

The problem for Inter and Inter alone is that there is still no date for the Inter-Sampdoria match. If we go all the way in EL and Coppa, we are fucked since they need to squeeze in that one extra match somewhere.

I'll put on my tinfoil hat for now,

In the higher echelon of competitive sports the tiniest details are crucial. These decisions jeapordize Inter's season. Who objectively benefits and suffers the most out of these decisions?

Not a big fan of Brehme, but on this issue, I have to paraphrase him, “why are we so surprised by these incompetencies and blatant prejudice?”

Not yet. I guess they're awaiting for Agnelli's approval.

I've missed some of the action around here. I thought we have a match tonight against Napoli, but looks like that is postponed now.

So what I get is that we will play Juve on the weekend, and there will be no fans.

That's a great idea. Our team is fresh enough, and they don't make money on the match (or face ire from their fans). Grande Beppe!

So basically it was moved 1 week further with also to be played to empty stands as it originally was supposed to be, nicely wasted a week there.
