Is he doing enough to fight the injustice against Inter in your view?

Shit is in their court now!

In an interview with Italian radio station Rai show Radio Anch’io Lo Sport this morning, Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta has spoken on the damage caused by Coronavirus.

The Coronavirus outbreak in Italy has wreaked havoc on the Italian football calendar in the past few weeks with this past weekend’s Derby D’Italia between Juventus and Inter among a number of fixtures affected. It was initially decided that the game would be played behind closed doors but then later decided the game would not be played at all and re-arranged for a later date. This was the third straight game of Inter’s to be affected by the virus with their match against Sampdoria postponed and their Europa League round of 32 second leg tie against Ludogorets played behind closed doors.

“As a citizen I am worried about the difficult situation facing the country with the risks we all run. When I have to deal with emergency issues, I try to be proactive,” he began. “The league is a sporting heritage of our country and after the contradictory decision, it has led to the convening of the league council tomorrow to have an extraordinary meeting and arrive at a univocal and harmonious decision in compliance with the rules. There are ourselves and Sassuolo who have not played for two Sundays and this leads to a competitive imbalance and possible damage.”

Next he spoke on Inter’s postponed match against his former employers Juventus. “I don’t want to argue anymore, I said what I had to. The League asked the government about playing behind closed doors and on Thursday a schedule was made subject to these measures but it is not clear why there was a step back on Saturday. I am not referring only to Juventus-Inter, but to all the matches. I am a director of a club that represents millions of fans and its investors. To play Juve-Inter on March 9 would make common sense but I want to be present at the meeting in order to evaluate the other ideas and then arrive at a solution. In my experience, the league has already been suspended due to unpredictable causes and then started again from the suspended day. Postponing the games instead and already setting a date, such as May 13, is something wrong. I am willing to listen to everyone.

Marotta then went on to discuss the fact that the postponed Sampdoria match, which was the first match of Inter’s to be affected, still has no re-arranged date. “It is a nice puzzle. If we were to continue on in Europe, there would be no more dates and this is incredible. It is not the polemical spirit, however, that I want to highlight. Mine is a proactive spirit, provided that substance and form are respected. felt and still feel I am highlighting the gaps in a choice that has not been shared and this is the stem of my anger. There are many evaluations that must be made around a table and they must be made with balance and competence.”

He then went on to speak about the month of May which looks set to be absolutely packed for Inter as things currently stand. “Until a few days ago a game was prepared which was then interrupted, not by an unforeseeable event but by what was already known at the beginning of the week. It is not possible for our players to play nine games in May, it means putting them at risk of injury and modulating training in a very difficult way.

The league isn't going to be cancelled. Games will just have to be played behind closed doors where necessary and we will just have to take getting fucked over here. I'm afraid I don't see any alternative.

I'm quite pleased with how Marotta is challenging the decisions and blaming those directly responsible.

One other suspension and if Inter make it up to the semi finals of EL, we'll be playing in August.

Malago: 'Push the whole calendar'
malago-song490epa_7_0_0_0.jpg

The CONI chief Giovanni Malago feels Monday 9 will be the perfect date for Juventus-Inter and has claimed they should “procrastinate the whole calendar”.

The clubs are scheduled to meet at CONI on Wednesday to discuss the upcoming months in the aftermath of a controversial weekend in Serie A.

But President Malago insisted that they should go on and “find a clear path to follow”.

“These are uncontrollable hours, no doubt about that. This is a critical time, more unique than rare,” he told Radio Anch’io. “There are many hypotheses that have entered in play, some mistakes have been made but the biggest one that can be done, is to not go on like this.

“We need to find a clear path to follow. The Lega assembly will be on Wednesday and a solution will have to be found.

“In previous years we already experienced problems with one day, I think we have to procrastinate the whole calendar, so nobody thinks the championship can be distorted.”

On Wednesday, Malago will be the host for the clubs at CONI and has said that he feels the matches should be sorted immediately.

“I will greet everyone as usual and then the others will make the decisions,” he added. “Personally, I believe we have to catch up on the weekend matches that we have just left behind.

“Juventus will not have the Champions League and Inter would have three days to recover. Therefore, I believe that Monday 9 should be the right date for the game.

“We start from the fact that the emergency is national, and we are honestly exacerbating the crisis in the world of football.

“This is very sad and does not honour our country. There are problems in other sports too. The theme is very simple. England and France have another cup as well. In Italy the problem, above all, is political.”

^ All fine and dandy, but again, when do we play the Sampdoria game?

If he were at Juve and such injustice happened he would have sued the league and taken more measures. I think Morratti would have done more.

It's hilarious how everyone is in a panic to reschedule this game (under favorable circumstances for Juve) while completely ignoring the Sampdoria fixture.

Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta has insisted that common sense is required when it comes to the handling of the currently messy situation with regards to the re-scheduling of several Italian football fixtures.

“Before Wednesday’s meeting, the Lega will send us all of their proposals, not just that of playing in Turin with Juventus on the 9th. After that Inter will make their proposal,” he explained in an interview with Italian news agency ANSA. “We need to broaden the range of proposals and we need common sense whist also respecting the logistics of the schedule.”

They are waiting for us to get eliminated from Coppa or Europa League to fit the match in the schedule

This situation is really strange. Do they want to cancell all games from this week, so that the 6 games from last week will be played now and the whole games from this week will be played at the 13. May? Would make sense. At last Lazio would have a game more too and we would recover a game.

But im curios to see what will happen. It's not even sure that there will be a game this week end. And what will happen then? There is no time for the Inter Samp game, how should we find time for other games?

It doesn't matter if Inter Samp will even be played. The important thing is that JUventus will get the money from Derby D'Italia. It is nevertheless the only game they can get that little stadium of theirs fully booked.

According to Ansa, Lega will suggest the postponed matches of last week to be played on 7-9 March. Inter are against it.

The way I see it, now it's all about keeping the appearance of integrity of the league, while allowing Rube to get away with the special treatment they have received.

I don't see our game against Samp in the new proposal. Only the one vs Rube. Ridiculous.

There's no date available for the match against Sampdoria. They're just hoping we will get eliminated from Europa League. Even now Lega only care about Agnelli getting his money. That's why they're still pushing for the derby to be played on Monday with fans instead of Sunday behind closed doors.

If we accept Lega proposal this is gonna be our schedule in the next few weeks:

5/3 Napoli
9/3 Juventus
12/3 Getafe
15/3 Sassuolo
19/3 Getafe
22/3 Parma
