Candreva is the only realistic option, IMO. Being co-owned means we have to convince two clubs to sell which could be tough. I support a push for Modric.

I know Caceres well as he is a Barca loan player to Juve...Surprised Milito didn't get the pk there but agree with a couple of posters that it technically didn't appear to be a penalty...Martin has some nice attributes but is a clumsy player, IMHO...Don't miss him at all

This may rub some Inter fans the wrong way but even as a sub, I am quickly coming to the following conclusion...Cash in what you can for Balotelli...There's no doubt he's a talented player but I see a head case and despite all the pressure, a manager like Mourinho and opportunity he continues to do the same things over & over....He might, just might be a lost cause...Some players never 'figure it out' and I just continue to see a player that is in his 'own world'

Helluva good control from Marchisio.

You guys were unlucky and perhaps even a bit done in by the ref...Being shorthanded made it tougher obviously...Couldn't get Eto'O really more dangerous than he could've been, shame...Stankovic played well but he doesn't appear to be a 90 min player, for me...Motta, is cut out for a smaller club, IMHO...Just isn't cut out for the big clubs as we saw him do well at Genoa.

Can't believe the shenanigans at the end there, some ridiculous diving left & right by both sides that led to the 'fight'...Hopefully the league will discipline some participants.

I'm not worried about Cesar, that pitch was wet and slippery and he had a RARE off game...so what. Juventus were fuckin lucky, the 1st goal was pure luck and the 2nd was a keeper mistake. No worries.

With Maicon and Sneijder it would've been 4-1 Inter.

Haha this was nice man .
We have seen cesar doing that kind of saves with the ball slipping away on low shots during almost every match and i could say we have been lucky not to suffer any other goal on those occasions.

Inter just didn't want it enough... For me both teams played terrible. Marchisio's brilliant goal was the difference. Inter just lacked heart... Juve got the job done.
I'm sick of us not showing up in big games...

Samuel for me should be benched with Materazzi getting the nod for once.

All I want for Christmas is a new Midfield.
Our current players are as stale as an old loaf of bread.

i must admit that i didn't expect a win today, but the first goal was a result of the most ridiculous dive i've seen all season and we weren't awarded a clear penalty, but nonetheless, i don't really feel bad about this loss as i did the loss against against barca because there really isn't something to feel bad about other than juve fans gloating until the next time we meet

I loved the style of play today. If anyone thought todays game was not entertaining they should stop watching Serie A.

Juve had the pressure on them for a result, and that may have showed itself, but Inter fought hard.

JC was disappointing, but not awful. On the first goal he looked very clumsy but sometimes you just don't get the bounce, that ball took at least three deflections on its way in. And the Marchisio goal was pure class, in my opinion. One of the best finishes under pressure I have ever seen live [edit: live, on TV, that is].

I can't agree with you regarding the style of play today. I thought the match was poor and I love Serie A football to the point where I watch very few games from any other country as most of them look messy to me. Inter were really impotent for most of the game and Juventus weren't that special either. There have been many better matches this season and there will be many more. I know bias clouds judgement particularly when the match ends in a painful defeat but I truly didn't think the game was anything more than average and as I said I am a Serie A-devotee to the point where I do not watch very much football at all from other countries.

EDIT: It would be interesting to see the "Giudizio" from Gazzetta tomorrow if anyone is able to post it to see whether they thought it was good or poor.

how am i a racist ???? jewish is a religion not a race

Either you're playing dumb or simply are, it's prejudiced to have written what you have...There's no room for it except in a forum for racists and bigots

Its really frustrating when I log on to this forum looking for insightful post-match commentary only to find racism (or however you want to categorize antisemitism), whining, and general negativity.

I think there were a couple of intelligent posts in there somewhere now time to sift through the nonsense to find one to reply.

Yea I was overstating my case I think. Many people were damning Inters spirit in the match and I think that is pretty unfair. It was not a pretty match by any means but I think it was very hard fought by both sides. The conditions on the pitch definitely played a role, as there were many slips and poor footwork generally.

After watching some of the key moments on replay, I really think we could have done better against Marchisio's goal. Samuel's defense was clumsy, as he went to ground too early, and JC looked like he was playing with his eyes closed. It was a first-class finish, though. Bitter defeat overall, but the Scudetto is more important than any one match, and we're in the driver's seat.

pen letters have been written to Juventus fans to stop the insults, but Susy Campanale feels Mario Balotelli needs a talking to

Many open letters were written to the fans in a bid to stop them insulting Mario Balotelli, but I think it’s about time someone wrote an open letter to him. So, Mario, a word in your shell-like…

You have been subjected to some awful racial slurs that ought to have no place in football or in society, even one as backward when it comes to race relations as Italy. Supporters can jeer all they like and – let’s be perfectly honest here – there are a million different reasons to insult you that have nothing to do with the colour of your skin. The moment someone strays into that territory, they have automatically lost all credibility and become a mindless thug.

Right, now that’s out of the way, we can get to the basics. You’re an idiot. It’s a tense atmosphere and for weeks the entire Italian football world has rushed to your defence against these vicious verbal attacks, so you ought to win them over with your undoubted talent so the only remaining critics will be the bigots. Instead you take the biggest test of all, the Derby d’Italia surrounded by those ultras who have turned hating you into a sport in and of itself, and you act like a prize pillock.

Within 60 seconds of stepping on to the field, you’d clattered into a Juve player in an accidental collision, then visibly berated him for ‘diving’ when he was simply hurt. To top it all off, you then flail around acrobatically clutching your face when Felipe Melo lashed out an elbow that struck you meekly on the shoulder. That’s just embarrassing. Of all nights, of all people, you had to prove your detractors right with a display of unsportsmanlike behaviour and arrogance.

The Juventus fans held up a banner during the match that read: ‘Don’t kid yourself Balotelli, you’d annoy us even if you were white.’ It’s pretty difficult to disagree with them after this sorry performance. Racism must be stamped out of football, but so must play-acting, provocation of opponents and the kind of gamesmanship that has become your bread and butter.

This was the perfect opportunity to separate the bigots from the genuine lovers of fair play, but you’ve only united them now in seeing you as the villain. Shame on the racist chants and shame on you, Mario.

Moratti's actual race is irrelevant - using ethnicity as an insult should not be tolerated on the forum of club whose name is "Internazionale".

Speaking of bigotry, I am not at all surprised that the "open letter" posted above was written by a woman. She sounds like a damn schoolteacher. Mario may have not been on his best behavior tonight, but she really doesnt provide much ammunition to back up her outlandish attacks on his character.

She only mentions two questionable incidents, one of which resulted in the sending off of an opponent, and writes off his entire performance as that of an idiot. I really can't help but wonder if she even watched the match.

Turin - The Juventus fans were speaking. Chanting against Balotelli and they did. Singing while filling up the stadium, 3 or 4 times in the first half and again in second, until we lost count. The game continued as if nothing had happened, as if there was an agreement with the ultras. No one could do anything not even the P.A. through the speaker, just like in Juve-Udinese. Only on the scoreboard appeared the words "fair play", without "please". A deserved one-match ban a year ago apparently for the same chants didn't teach them anything, and the 20,000 euros fine this past week from the sporting Judge with the justification that "if you jump, Balotelli dies" is not racist. Unheeded from the letter written the last couple days from the president Blanc to the fans.

Provocation But now the feeling goes beyond racism. It's the game, provocation, a tug of war between some of the supporters of Juve and the rest of the world, including some groups that they have no relationship with. The provocation began two hours before the match, when the Pullman (Inter's bus?) arrived at the Olimpico with great security but they have to face eggs and insults against Inter. But as soon as you turn on the spotlight of a camera, a small crowd on the street started jumping up and down in rhythm with offensive chants but they seemed like they were proud to be filmed. The sound system at the stadium was exploded to the extreme in an attempt to cover the voice of the fans.

I'm so sad to witness the desparate state that Italian football has reached after watching yesterday's game. I mean it was a match between the top team against third in the table and haven't seen any meaningful move or even a proper shot on target for 90 minutes!

I'm looking way past last night's "meaningless" defeat and I insist that the defeat is meaningless because it changes nothing in the table nor it changes the fact that Inter will win this season's title again because they simply have no competitors.

Juve fans can and should be happy for beating their enemy as in my opinion the win was the only positive thing out of this game for them, but if they really get carried away and exaggorate to think that their team will win something this season then they should get prepared to be disappointed again. Their new signings (Diego and Melo) are worse than what I expected as the first was running like a headless chicken with no purpose and didn't contribute to the game at all while the latter was only interested in getting his opponents hurt! Furthermore, I can't believe that a team which thinks that it is "still" amongst the elite in Europe is still depending on finished players like Del Piero, Trezeguet and Camoranesi who are in their 30's and have nothing to add but more mediocrity.
But wait, what about Inter?! Well… being top of the table with such big gap at this stage of the season can really aid you to hide a fact or two. I always believed that our players must be credited for giving more than 100% to be at the top for so many years, because in reality, if we were playing in another top European league we would be happy only to reach Europe with such players. None of our midfielders can run with the ball!! Not like if most of you don’t know this but I just want to know till when will we depend on the likes of Cambiasso, Muntari and Stankovic to run our midfield?! I’m not criticizing their work rate our their effort because I believe that they have always and will always give their best to Inter, but I can’t understand why we still believe that those players will make us a better team!!
