We are already plus 4. By the next time we meet we will be on the verge of another Scudetto. I think we would have played different if we had been level on points or something.

For one thing, if Inter's lead had been tighter before this match, we might have rushed Sneijder back into the lineup.

[Edit] Good point about Kazan, Xoonky. Without that match looming in the future we could have devoted more to this match, perhaps Sneijder. [/Edit]

My laptop died out during the match and I didn't get to post yesterday. The match was really embarrassing.

Everything from our woeful play to Milito's diving and Balotelli's playacting was pathetic. It was one of our most shameful days.

The nicer things about it was seeing Matrix on the field :D, Deki and Milito storming off the pitch after the game instead of handshakes with those bastards and Marchisio's goal...he is becoming a fantastic player for them.

I agree with Hussein

I remember years ago when the Serie A and the EPL were pretty much the top two leagues in Europe

Now the Serie A has dropped down in terms of talent and all the things you mentioned

The British pound is having the sh*t kicked out of it,. so it is unlikely that they will be financially attractive in the next 5 years as in the previous 5 years.

But the Euro is also a little shaky. Basically, stay away from currencies for the next few years, turn your money into assets!

For Inter, i guess this advice translates as: "Break the bank and add some quality to midfield already ,for chrissakes!"

Another thing is, I'm not 100% sure how this works, but serie A teams give serie B teams lots of money or something like that, I would have to ask my dad he would know about it more then me, but the EPL teams don't give anything to the championship or anything so that's another way their teams have more money.

That changed this year. The Serie A split from the Serie B, so it's not much more like England's EPL.

This is true, but it has not gone into effect yet. I believe it will take effect by July 1, 2010.

I loved the style of play today. If anyone thought todays game was not entertaining they should stop watching Serie A.

Juve had the pressure on them for a result, and that may have showed itself, but Inter fought hard.

JC was disappointing, but not awful. On the first goal he looked very clumsy but sometimes you just don't get the bounce, that ball took at least three deflections on its way in. And the Marchisio goal was pure class, in my opinion. One of the best finishes under pressure I have ever seen live [edit: live, on TV, that is].

Seems your pretty certain that anyone who didn't enjoy the game was wrong.

I really don't think it is a matter of "correct" or "wrong". A hard fought match is always entertaining, IMO. The pitch conditions and physical play did not make it a particularly glamorous match, but the tension and the spirit made it very compelling to watch.

Clearly we all understand that a reputable sports newspaper will probably not give a high rating to match with so many negative episodes and so few legitimate scoring chances. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed the match, and nothing written on any forum or in any newspaper is going to change that.

Here is much more moderate.

I agree with you that it is a matter of opinion though and that neither of us are right or wrong but I stick by my thoughts that the game was crap.

Honestly I don't care much about goals or scoring chances. I like to see a tactical game which many may find boring especially people fed an EPL diet. But this match was atrocious by all standards. Not for lack of chances or all the needless fouls and playacting and diving; but the quality of the game was very very poor. This Inter performance was shameful and humiliating. And Juve's failure to control the game against such a poor side also reflected that they weren't particularly good either.

This wasn't a tight game where neither team let the other play free football, instead this was a game where neither team failed to play themselves.

I'll certainly admit that my temperament changed from being rather fiery mere moments after the match to more, as you say, moderate the day after the contest.

but I think my point remains, and is even backed up by a number of opinions in this thread - specifically, that Serie A has fallen off in terms of skill, and that many clubs (most notably, Inter) have resorted to more physical tactics.

I thought the match reflected the character of Serie A on the whole. To tell people they should stop watching calcio is certainly extreme and I apologize if I offended anyone. However, I disagree with your claim that I was telling people that they are 'wrong'.

Instead, I stand by my view that the match was very characteristic of the current state of affairs of the top clubs Italian football. If you agree with this point, I'm sure you can see that it is reasonable to say to someone, "if you didn't like this match, maybe you don't like Seirie A"
