Mm. He's been impressive pre-season but that hardly means anything. I would however agree with Mazzarri's ranking of Carrizo as 2nd choice, ahead of Castellazzi.

I've always said Castellazzi is one of, if not, the best backup goalkeeper in the league, but injury and age may have caught up with him. I watched all the training videos of the pre-season camps and in training (which is of course, entirely separate to match performance), Handanovic and Carrizo looked to be on par whereas Castellazzi was noticeably slower.

Carrizo has been such a dweeb in his Italian career, but he looked very strong today. Let's see how he plays in real matches when Handanovic is injured/suspended.
