30 years old is fine, but NOT when we're talking about a mid-table player.

So basically Luca Toni should have never joined Bayern?

He is great undervalued player.

He gonna make you eat your words if we menage to sign him.

I don't care about his ages at all.

I don't get this age discrimination thing in this place. A two year deal with maybe an option for an extension for a player like Ilicic would be nice. We need to add depth. At worse, he becomes a rotation player. At best, he surprises us.

I'm late to join this discussion but it's only now that Spalletti has outright said we don't have the funds to sign Cancelo and Rafinha.

As much as I hate to even look at the dude, Ilicic is a good fucken player. For 15m, even at 30 years old, is not unreasonable. I would personally rather spend 15m on Ilicic than 30 or 40 on Cristante, Toreira or Barella etc.

The bigger question in play is what the rest of our mercato will look like. I don't honestly consider Ilicic a worse player than Rafina tbh. but if Ilicic is to be a direct replacement, I want another option as well.

Luca Toni was 28y old in 2007, when he joined Bayern. He remained until 2010, actually Ilicic's age when he was pretty shit.

Uni you are a smart man and you know your football well but sometimes you are so naive if you ask me, like with Suning case as they didn't know about the Communist restrictions beforehand and you thinking Rubentus are not actively playing the system statement are some statements from u that I didn't expect but here we are...

I know you don't like me much, not asking you to do so as we have polar opposite opinions and personalities at that.

I do however apreciate a civil debate with you, for me it is never personal when we disagree
In fact I respect your opinions but doesn't mean I have to agree with them
This is just not for Uni, talking about everyone here
In a forum expect your opinion to get challenged
Sometimes we go overboard yeah but no need to get it to personal insults guys... I DON'T LIKE that

OK? OK...

The only valid reason why someone may be against this move is that Ilicic has no Champions League experience and we're in need for depth that has that characteristic. Even so, it's not the end of the world. But it'd be nice to get some veterans that have proper CL experience.

Milito had much CL experience?!

It's OK tho... Precassi/Atalanta boss man won't allow his star man to move away, or that's what I keep hearing

No, he did not. But he joined a team of perennial CL participants, usually quarter finalists. It's not the same, but at the same time, as I said it's not the end of the world. Thiago Motta also hadn't played in CL for 4 years or so before joining us. The "CL experience" factor is not just for CL though, it's like Miranda. Added with a leadership trait, they can do wonders in our locker room. Look at Skriniar and imagine him becoming a veteran in 6-7 seasons. I just fear to be around that guy on a bad day :D

Speaking of Thiago Motta, I'd happily see him back if he didn't agree to go elsewhere. Free transfer, salary shouldn't exceed 2m at this point and a great rotation option.

Many people here make conclusions based of popularity of the player and his age. For them Ilicic is not "star" name and he is 30 years old, which means he is not "young talent we've never heard about" - so he automatically goes to "shit old player from midtable team" section.
I'm sure that of all people moaning against him, nobody actually watched more than 2-3 games of him.... ever.

I think that applies to everyone.

I saw a post about Cancelo the other day where someone, don't remember who saw it through my phone, was saying he's a top right back and then he made a list and 90% of the players he mentioned he admitted to never watch play :D

Sucks about Motta, thought he was just leaving PSG. Inter Forever? :D

We seem to have a thing for ex-Viola players. A midfield consists of Ilicic, Valero, and Vecino.

I literally can't wait.

Anymore decent ex-Viola players we can get? I heard Gilardino is pretty good.

this is exactly where FIF stop reading lmao and add +2 years to their age to match with FIF gregorian Calendar.

PEOPLE here at the time didn't want Milito as well, because reasons chipschups said, and that he was just a Genoa player and 30ish...:awyeah:I was more silent then because I was just a kid and didn't want to act smart,or I would quickly get the...you are a kid treatment, maybe justified, maybe not.

Branca was not the sharpest tool in the shed but...damn...the 09/10 mercato was perfection, and he did create LGI II together with MM,Mou,Manshitni(sort of),Lele,Baresi...
Ok much different times with no FFP yet...

Is DON AUSILIO capable of Branca's achievement anytime soon?! I have serious doubts about his competence...
OK DON MM knew his football,he brought in ICARDI on his personal wish,Ronaldo,Baggio,Vieri,Zamorano,Adriano,Ibracadabra,Crespo...he picked the coaches, sometimes he fucking failed epiclly but he was the PRESIDENTE in the dark times of ITALIAN FOOTBALL,CALCIOPOLI, 98 and 02 Scudo are fishy as the ones revoked from Rube...

where am I going with this?!
right...STOP JUDGING PLAYERS...YOU know very little or nothing about.

I will give you 4 Slovenian names...

HANDA,OBLAK,ILICIC,KAMPL are the SLOVENIANS who are worthy of an Inter shirt in my book as they have the necessary top talent for such a club!Maybe Ilicic not as a starter but as a super sub instead of Eder...easily
However Atalanta doesn't want to sell him at all...the rumors were blown out of proportion too soon...
Handa is Handa we all know him,Oblak is a rare GK better than Handa...and KAMPL would give Brozo a run for his money no doubt.Kampl is better overall than Borja,Vecino and Gags if you ask me. Maybe a bit of Falcao law yeah but...

fuck YOUR Falcao law...it's something that is as objective from me as possible.

Other Slovenians are not up to the Inter standard, some of our talents are good but not developed yet.

Krhin for example...he was never gonna make it here, injury prone, and lacks what Cuchu has,his idol and all that...but he hasn't got the balls Cuchu had,nor the grinta and spirit.

THE GRINTA,SPIRIT AND BALLS IN FOOTBALL MAKE THE DIFFERENCE,ALSO YEAH ENOUGH QUALITY in individuals and then in the collective effort

Ilicic is great for two-three years until Inter are no longer under FFP restrictions. He's a lot more productive in goals and assists than Rafinha. Our attack will be lethal with Laturo and Icardi alongside Ilicic.

People saying no need their heads checked. Ilicic is the next best if the club can't sign Rafinha.

we got Candreva just two years ago for 27 million and now we want Ilicic until after two years, then again another RW.

That's clearly how we should build a team, new team every two years...

You completely missed the point. The point was that we need to build a team who can play together for years and not have a new team every two years.

Also, no, actually Candreva at Lazio was better than Ilicic at Atalanta.

It's a problem if we buy 30 year old for every position.

But we aren't yet doing that, one or two is fine.
