Mourinho is adapting to the fact that the squad is suited to a 4-3-1-2. Had Quaresma and Mancini performed, we wouldn't have played like this. Mourinho has taken over a 4-3-1-2 squad from his predecessor and he plays 4-3-1-2 because he realizes this.

and it is important not to lose pt against your bitter and big rivals. It is better we play cautiously and stick to the formation all of our players are comfortable with.

Afterwards, Jose can try to fiddle with the squad again and try to fit Quaresma and Mancini into the system

Unfortunately there is little time to test in the next few games with CL qualification game following by Napoli and Lazio.

I don't think it is a question of being comfortable. Like FR said, if Mancini and Ricky were doing their job, we wouldn't play 4-3-1-2 yesterday. As soon as they start to kick off, we'll back to 4-3-3 on a week basis.

And also, lets not forget this is Campionato. I'm yet to see for us to play this way in CL, and I honestly don't believe we will. That's only one of the many differences between Jose and Mancio.

There are a lot of differences, 4-3-1-2, is just a "temporary" solution, as a wingers are not doing enough. That's pretty much it.

At this point i would rather try to integrate Figo, Jimenez back in the squad. We really lack last pass, especially in home games against small teams which pack up in there defensive third.

It will be interesting with Figo and Jimenez back. We potentially have 4 wingers in our team now and it remains to be seen how Jose will integrate them into the system. It is going to be difficult

Jimenez is not a winger and Figo certainly doesnt have the pace to play as one anymore.

They need more central roles.

Crapesma and shitcini are the only "real" wingers we have and they are both terrible useless players who should quit football.

I know. I am saying IF Jose still want to keep the winger system, we POTENTIALLY have 4. I remember Jimenez played on the wing before tho? Was I mistaken?

Jimenez played for a short while in a winger position during a match in pre-season.

I think Jimenez and Figo should be given a chance in the CL game, just to see what they can conjure up. I'm not hoping for much, but JoMo should forget his winger system till he signs better ones.

What are we going to do now with RQ and Mancini? you can't waste the money like that, they should have a new role, i mean....

Zanetti---Cambiasso----Muntari
------------*-----------------
-----Zlatan---Cruz/Adriano------

* = Choose between Stankovic, Quaresma and Mancini. I really think Mancini can play in the middle.

I actually think that 4-3-3 suits counter-attacking play for us right now. While 4-1-2-1-2 is good to keep opponent in their half.

Jost said snce our wingers arent doing well at the moment he had to adapt to the players he has now and that is why he changed to the 4-4-2. When our wingers start performing then can jose start thinking of implementing back his 4-3-3, which at the moment clearly isnt working.

yea, I do not think Jose is ready to give up the 4-3-3 system yet. He loves wingers and it is always part of his tactics. I think he will try it now and then between small matches, give some wingers a full match in coppa and see if there is any lights

btw interesting thing I found

Inter Milan coach, José Mourinho has already taken action over the past month to cut down on unnecessary muscle-related injuries to his players, namely defender Christian Chivu and Chilean midfielder Luis Jiménez, by ordering the grass in their training field to be cut much shorter and constantly attended to.

For those that keep questioning Jose and bashing him for using so called Mancini's formation.

Mourinho used a 4-4-2 in Saturday's victory over Juventus, drawing comparisons with the tactics of his predecessor. "I won at Porto and Chelsea with 4-4-2," he explained. "It's not an invention of mine or of Roberto (Mancini). The diamond midfield might be a more recent invention, but it's not new. It's a system with various interpretations, it can be black or white. I prefer by far the 4-3-3 and I am convinced that a great team that wants to play well and win has to know how to play like this, but like I said in my first press conference here, I'm not an idiot. I know how to change and assess changes according to situations and the form of my players."
