And Italy has none  since Inter won in 2010, two English clubs won it

and winning CL should never be a measuring stick for different leagues, who even cares about that

we haven't been able to progress from Group Stages for three seasons, that should be our priority now and stop talking about other clubs

Also, since we are talking about Spurs. They reached the CL final. If it's so easy, let's see Roma do it. Oh right, they can't even reach CL spots.

LOL. Yeah, your argument fell apart, so now the Champions League is stupid!!!! What part of overrated dont you understand? Who rated Roma to reach the CL final anyway? The reading comprehension on here is atrocious.

What's your point? Everyone with a brain realizes the Spanish league is the best league in the world. The English league is obviously second best when you consider the managers they have, the players they have, and their recent European performances. The only clubs that spend more than English clubs are located in Spain and Paris. Germany having Bayern doesn't change that and no one in Italy even deserves mention.

Im saying the PL is overrated. For the amount of revenue they have and the amount of money they spend on players an managers, their performances in Europe are shockingly poor. Its really not that complicated.

He probably is lashing against English bias, which okay, fair play, but with his own Italian bias. This current Roma side is in no way better than Spurs this season.

Where did I say Roma was better? In fact, I said they were a downgrade, although not as big of a downgrade as everyone makes it out to be.

The closest thing to Capello really. And in that 1st season in charge of Roma Capello came up very short [couldnt even make UCL]whilst Lazio won the league. He then somehow convinced the owners to splash big on Batistuta and made history. Now like Capello the good thing for Roma is they will be patient with Mourinho and he will get atleast 2 years to work his magic. At Spurs he really got no time.

Belotti to Roma can be a good start.A passionate fan base that Mourinho can charge up and he will most definitely have the backing against any Primadonna's in the squad which will work to his advantage.

His relationship with the Italian press was abysmal when he was with us and it had pretty much broken down by the time he left.Roma have a Portuguese guy called Pinto in their hierarchy who should defend Jose for a while.Ofcourse Mourinho will pick fights with the press but as long as he is fighting outwards and not with his own players it will be fine. This is where the Mkhitaryan's and Zaniolo's may spoil it all.

Overall i expect him to stay a season or two max and in that time i am sure he can make Roma into a Top 4 club.If he can win the Coppa and Conference League then all the better for him.If the Friedkin's caan give him that Batistuta type then who knows he may even make a play for the league.

I totally expect him to mock Conte and get in his head just as he did in the EPL.I hope we dont collapse like Conte did that 2nd season at Chelsea.Lots of other factors were involved back then but i just want to see Conte calm and serene and Mourinho definitely wont let that happen!!

Overall a move that i hate but grudgingly respect because this is such an Underdog back to the walls challenge that Mourinho has taken and this is why he became The Special One.The eternal city and a gladiator like him might just be the spark that both the club and the man need to reviveand revitalise themselves.

A step down for Mourinho,
I don't doubt the abilities of Mourinho. To me he is still one of, if not thé best manager around.
In my opinion he doesn't fit in with the 'soft' characteristics of the modern day footballer. Just look at the players he managed in Real Madrid, Man U, Tottenham.... They all ooze a 'larger then life' attitude,

Roma is nothing but a stopover for Mou to stay relevant. He can't afford another gap year. People will forget him next season.

Roma's squad is horrible. Mou will need a full new team. None of Roma defenders can play in Mou system. Mou will need at least 4-5 years to develop that team. Today's Roma is not any better than Verona or Sassuolo. Mourinho ain't gonna be close to 4th with this team, but that's not what he wants. He is just waiting for the next big job because currently it is full except probably Juve.

I don't blame him. I guess he'd be more than happy living in Rome, earning millions per season whilst his job is safe. All that is expected of him is to finish top 4 as Roma are a bunch of shitters at the moment and I'm assuming they must have agreed to reinforce the team in areas that he will address, if he hasn't done so already. No way will he be sacked anytime soon as they can't possibly demand that he wins them the title with the squad that they have.

Wasn't this exactly what they said at Spurs too?

Ah right. So this Roma tenure is a year long Italian vacation / wage supplement. Nice, Jose.

Yeah it seems he’s there to get them consistently into Europe and make top tier money in the middle of it. A new age hustle

If that’s true that’s hilarious! Tottenham are basically paying for 2 managers! If we had the person who brokered this deal when we were negotiating for Ericksen we could have got money from Tottenham instead of paying 20mil :trollol:

We have actually done it many times in the past. Spalletti and Conte. Mancini and Mazzarri. Leonardo and Benitez. Mancini and Mourinho. There were even seasons Inter were paying for 3 coaches.

Yeah but NOT for that manager to also MANAGE ANOTHER CLUB!!!! That’s madness!!

I think Spaletti actually wanted a severance to join Milan or pay something and we told him straight to fuck right off.

so I guess Zaniolo will be back at Inter :troll:

We’ve already got one injury prone cripple at the club, that’s plenty in my books.
