Makes no sense to spend money on Cancelo. Dudes price and presumably wages too have been artificially inflated by his sale to Man City. He’s no longer worth the amount he’d cost.

We literally just bought Lazaro for €20m as well. He’s looked really good since that Sassuolo disaster. Let’s just develop the asset we have and spend our money where it’s needed in midfield.

Only on paper. In reality they sold him for 28m plus Danilo which isn't a great deal in my opinion.

I would love Cancelo back at Inter but right now he looks like a luxury considering our lack of depth in midfield and attack. We should have other priorities in January.
I wouldn’t call Cancelo a luxury player. Think about it, we have good starters for every position except the wingbacks. Yes, we lack depth in almost every position but for WB positions we need starters.

Better find a LWB Cancelo, because I see RWB locked by Candreva/Lazaro/Di Marco/D'Ambrosio

Isn't Di Marco a leftfooted left-back?
Yes, the little I saw him he looked promising... But... Who knows, saw too little to really judge him well

If Cancelo was sold for more than 60m then Lukaku was not expensive at all. Price inflation everywhere.

I seriously doubt it. Mourinho would have a fit with Cancelo defending.
if I didn't get him wrong he said he is going to play different football, correct me if I'm wrong. I think Cancelo would be an upgrade to Aurier

Talk of him going to Valencia in January, possibly even on loan. We might as well try to get into this deal, I think he would be a monster in Conte's 3-5-2.

D'Ambrosio can take Biraghi's place at LWB, they offer practically the same thing anyway.

It's mildly concerning that three of his last four clubs have wanted to get rid of him (in the span of four years).

Valencia didn't want to get rid of him per se. The issue was Marcelino wanted to use him as a right midfielder as he considered Cancelo too attacking as a right back but Joao was against it. I haven't watched him a lot at City but i guess he probably has limited playing time and he wants to leave to secure a place in Portugal squad for the upcoming Euro.

I still consider him a luxury for January considering our situation in midfield and attack but if he's available on loan i would take him over Alonso.

Candreva plus Lazaro are sufficient for now at least so Cancelo is not as badly needed as is a replacement for Biraghi and an injury prone Asamoah.

I'd pass on Cancelo.

He should go back to Benfica if he cannot play at Man City.

Like I said previously, he's too expensive now. And RWB does not need urgent prioritising.

Watched him in the League Cup today, wasn't great, wasn't bad, scored a deflected goal.

Could be related to stress of not playing much, but his body language and demeanor was pretty poor. Lots of complaining, chastising teammates etc. much like Perisic at times. That kind of teammate is always a drag to work with.

Paying crazy money in the progress. It's something fishy there.

Well, he did start from Benfica who are labelled as a football washing machine. Portuguese police is looking into them all the time.
Roma used to be part of that system along with a French club(think it was Bordeaux), Olympiakos of Greece and a couple of others that now include Nottingham Forrest (same ownership as Olympiakos now, via a proxy).

Not so sure if they are still active but they were notorious in the early 2010s and mid 2010s. There are many similar situations going on in world football now.
