We'll most likely need him at some point. We can't exhaust Brozovic/Nainggolan until they're injured/unable to contribute at 100%.

It's either he wants to re-establish himself as an Inter player and (who knows) succeed here, or just wants to get some playing chances and advertise himself for next employer, as without any game practice only the likes of Betis or Brighton would like to buy him in January.

This interview was also posted on Inter's official website which is really interesting. I won't be surprised if he gets playing time against Sampdoria.

I want to see him, why not. Everyone should get a chance, our lack of creativity is a big problem. Valero played 5 minutes and still helped the offensive part more then Nainngolan that played the whole game.

Joao Mario: ‘I’ll win over fans’ :palm:
By Football Italia staff, so of course he never exactly said this. Headlines seem to be made up all the time...

Joao Mario “can understand why” Inter fans whistle him, but wants to “change those whistles into applause”.

The Portuguese midfielder joined the Nerazzurri in 2016, but he failed to impress in his first season.

He spent the second half of 2017-18 on loan at West Ham United, but the Hammers didn’t take up their option to buy him.

After declaring the summer that he didn’t like Serie A and admitting “there’s no fire inside me” to play for the Beneamata again, he failed to secure a move away and hasn’t played this season, not to mention he’s a pariah for the fans.

“All I want to do now is change those whistles into applause,” Joao Mario told Sky.

“It’s always difficult when your own fans whistle you, but I can understand why. I think there’s a problem with body language, sometimes it seems like I’m not there [on the pitch].

“It’s something I have to improve, because I have the desire to do well.” :eek:kay:

I`d rather see Borja than this prick. But then again, the club might advertise him, because we desperately need to cash in on him. :palm:

I think he actually could help us. I’d like to see a midfield with him instead of Vecino. I think we would look a lot more fluid. Just keep him away from the net

Absolutely this.

Crazier things have happened than Joao Mario looking better than Vecino has in league games so far this year.

It's not only his body language. It is mainly to do with the fact that he opened his mouth and shat upon Inter as a club and Serie A as a Championship. Of course, strolling around the pitch half arsed like he does not give a shit does not help his cause but he is fooling himself if he only thinks it is a question of body language.

Unfortunately for Joao, he has dug himself a huge hole. Once a player gets on the bad side of our supporters, it is pretty much over. He is going to have to put in some truly great performances for our fans to forgive him and for him to be able to climb out of the hole that he dug for himself.

Lastly, I just want to say that Joao Mario is not a favourite of mine. I do not like him and I wish we could have found a club that could take him off our hands. Having said that, if he can help and make a contribution to our midfield in terms of creativity and show that he is really making an effort to not be a Cunt then I would probably forgive him.

I guess the difficult part of that equation is Spalletti trusting and giving him the opportunity to prove himself and Joao Mario performing to the expectations that originally led Inter to purchase him in the first place.

He admit that he is wrong. That is ok, everybody makes mistakes. He deserves a second chance but let's see if he really wants to do better or that were just a nice words in front of the media.

Only top players can handle such a situation as this, we had an similar case with Ziyech at Ajax. Big difference is that he is a world class footballer and showed that every match, last season he got booed a couple of matches and now he get cheered on by all the fans. It's all about his performance on the pitch in the end. Off course it don't help when you give interviews the way he did but i like to see him get playing time and prove himself.

At the end Inter doesn't have a squad to exclude players especially when its a midfielder. Let alone the financial loss if we don't play him this season. And for the record I don't like him at all think he's got a shitty mentality and will never make it on top level but with all the matches we play we gonna need everybody and as long as he is here we can use him. Maybe he has seen the light and will fight on the pitch, not for the club because he doesn't want to be here but for himself as a professional football player.

Just a question, do you think Ajax supporters are more forgiving/understanding than Inter supporters?

In my 27 years as an Inter supporter, I have never seen a player that has a fallen out with the fans ever recover their adoration. Stephane Dalmat started to put in shit performances and after a while, our supporters got on his back and never eased up. He was booed out of Milan and went on loan to a number of clubs before leaving. Mikael Silvestre pretty much went the same way. However the difference between these two players and Joao Mario is that they never spoke out against the club in the manner that Joao Mario did. They were just not up to standard and could not handle the pressure.

Perhaps the player with the highest profile to whom this happened was Christian Vieri. He continued to score goals for us but somewhere along the way he stopped celebrating goals and it turned into a fight between Vieri and our supporters. Of course, the reasons behind this are very different to what happened with Joao Mario but what I am trying to say is that once they turn, regardless of who the player is and his contribution to the team, they do not turn back.

i dont care what he says to the club. as long as he could deliver good/great performance, it is fine to me. his issues with the fans is a logical consequence from being a prick. he'll have to deal with it.

The French have a very fitting expression for Joao's situation - the vase is already broken. His situation is fucked up beyond repair at this point.

Why not? It's not like has has no talent. It does bother me that he talked shit about us and serie a, but fuck it, if he plays as he can, i wouldn't mind giving him another shot.

Trust is broken - once a piece of shit, always a piece of shit. It's like getting back with a cheating ex girlfriend. You should know full well she's going to backstab you again at some point, but you still decide to go ahead anyway.

I've been rooting for JM, but he has clearly shown he's an ingrate and he deserves no second chances. I blame the management that they didn't manage to even find him a loan deal so he could fuck off into obscurity.

Remind me of any other player in recent history that took a shit on us so blatantly and consistently while away on loan, with OPTION for God's sake. And I thought he's an intelligent player. All he is is a spoilt little bitch that won't amount to anything anywhere. Would be amazingly stupid to give him a helping hand so he can revive his non existing career and then leave us for the first team stupid enough to get baited.

If we're talking about money here let me remind you that he self handedly cut his price in half with those statements. Numerous ones on different occasions, separated in time.

If we're taking about the fact that he might be useful, well Balo could've been quite useful as well back in the day, but we had some dignity and shipped his sorry ass off.

If we're talking about the fact that we're temporarily stuck with him, then well, I blame the management.

Again, even if we let him play and he proves himself useful he is still out the door in January.

What message would giving him a second chance be? You can do whatever you like, we're desperate so you'll be forgiven. Fuck that attitude. Let the SoB rot and learn a lesson.

Icardi had a beef with the fans, not the club itself. Plus, he's Icardi for fucks sake, his stock was sky high before him slipping up. On the contrary Mario's stock is negative currently and I don't see even an ounce of Icardi's determination and spirit in that little whiny bitch.
