JZ didn't deserve this as a final season. Definitely deserved a much better send off. Sitting on the bench all season long, not being able to contribute, and not being able to lead HIS team all because a dumb fucking coach wants to play 3-x-x.

Seriously Walter? A symbol of our club, a player who's averaged over 4k minutes every season for so long all of a sudden only gets 400 minutes? And it's not because we're Real Madrid now....we're still shit and his replacements are still shit.

Especially the bolded part. I've never really been of the belief that 'experienced' players should play the derbies. I think whoever's in form and has been starting recently should continue to do so, and it seems Mazzarri thinks the same, which is why Jonathan's inclusion was bewildering. As nfl says, even if you completely ignore all sentiment or past achievements, Zanetti is STILL, hands down, a better player than Jonathan and D'Ambrosio. It's not like Zanetti's being benched for a Maicon or Cafu in their prime, but for a fucking idiot named Jonathan who routinely embarrasses himself while having the audacity to masquerade as a professional footballer. So much about this season disgusts me.

2 years ago I wrote this article and I immediately reread it after knowing Zanetti will retire.
Aside of that sad and symphatic feeling to our greates player ever, I feel disgusted more and ever more to Mazzarri. Come on man, you sacrifice Zanetti for what ? Jonathan and Ambrosio ?? Jonathan is a bit more understandable as he provides more attacking contribution, but Ambrosio ?? :chan: Both of them only give defensive protection and Zanetti is miles away better than him.

Oh should I mention the last derby ? Mazzarri chose to play with the back against the wall against worst Milan ever in 40-50 years. And he opted for Jonathan who was just recovered from injury and indeed he was a crap in the match. I know the match sucked hard, but at least give him the chance to enjoy the rapturous standing ovation from the stadium he loves. We want to hear both Curva Nord and Sud pay respect for him. And now, Zanetti must farewell in front of empty Curva de Nord :serious:
