Well two reasons to why mentioning Konoplyanka as a cheaper replacement doesn't make that much sense.

1) Konoplyanka can technically ask for around the same as a sign-on fee in case of multiple big clubs being interested in him.

2) Perisic has proved him self in German football for many years meanwhile Konoplyanka has been running around in Ukrainian football which I think we all can agree is not at the same level at all.

With this said I don't hope and I don't think the club will spend money on both loaning Salah and signing Perisic. We will not play that many matches this season and I think Camara and Palacio will be good enough alternatives on the wing positions for Shaqiri and Salah. Not to forget mentioning Wolfsburg is owned by Volkswagen and they therefore don't have to sell Perisic that cheap because of the amount of money they have.

a demand of a sign-on fee ? never heard of this, free agents may ask for big salaries and that's it.
Konoplyanka performed very well in the europa league not just locally, imo he is a better player than Perišić.
