There is a kind of "anti Conte's Inter" propaganda that has been going for a while among Inter related pages. Gotta admit that he failed miserably in European competitions, but his football during that time he coached Inter was quite entertaining though.

I'm actually deep serious. We had so much authority, we knew how to handle different situations (we do still) and most importantly we won Scudetto at that time.
🤌 🤌

Not even Conte's mom call his football entertaining.

I want to interject a podcast conversation into this thread. Who do you all think is getting relegated this year?

I think Empoli and Salernitana are locks.

I think the teams that will be in the conversation are Empoli, Salernitana, Verona, Cagliari, and Frosinone.

Salernitana - I don't rate Pippo Inzaghi as a coach and don't think he was a good choice for Salernitana. I would not be surprised to see them go for a new coach soon. They do have a guy in Dia who can score double digit goals if he finds form, so we'll see.

Empoli - I think their coach is decent and it's more of an issue with their team. In the last two seasons, they've lost Ricci, Asllani, Pinamonti, Vicario, and Parisi. I don't believe they ever make big investments so hard to see them bringing anyone in. I'm not sure where the goals will come other than Caputo who is only getting older.

Verona - it feels like they've been flirting with relegation for quite some time. They have some players who have Serie A experience that may help them pull through. At the same time, they also lack a goal scorer. Their coach Barone did a decent job with Lecce last season. They actually started off the season well, but seem to be on a big losing streak.

Cagliari - they started the season badly but had some tough matches. They now have 7 points from the last three matches. They have a few older players in attack that have Serie A experience and can pitch in with goals here and there - believe it or not, they have Pavoletti, Petagna, and Lapadula all on their books. They seem to have a fairly experienced team which could see them stay up.

Frosinone - I don't know too much about them so tough to give an opinion. They seem to play attractive football from the few glimpses I saw, but it seems they also concede a lot of goals. Soule is in really good form. I don't know about the rest of their team, but it seems they have a lot of players on loan from different teams.

Udinese/Genoa are the two teams close to the bottom that I'm confident in staying safe. Udinese has too much quality and Genoa have a few players that I believe are above rest of the relegation candidates (guys like Gudmundsson, Retegui, etc.). Lecce look to play good football and I think are decent enough to stay in the league.

If I had to pick, the two I would go for are Salernitana and Empoli. Have not made up my mind on the 3rd team yet.

This Allegri ball is not sustainable. At all. This will be broken 100% and when that happens. 1-0 wins become 0-0 draws and losses. When you have 30% possession vs Viola and Salernitana, doesnt matter who, it will bite you back. His gameplay is full terrorist sitting back, hoping to score 1 goal and go home. Score a goal against them and Allegri will throw his hands up and start calculating " wtf we're gonna do now""

WTF are you gonna do in UCL anyway playing like this? They got a humiliating exit just recently by playing this way. Even then they tried to attack more. This year they have gone full shameless. But its working. The results are there, but open up the game stats and xG they have been playing like a local 4th league team. Monza is playing their 2nd year in Serie A and they are playing better football ffs.

Allegri lays a trap and people will blindly walk into it. They are so bad that even the relegation sides are offered to give a game to them . All I know is that Inzaghi is way too smart to go full Fuck You mode in Turin. Cautious, but controlling. Oh my lord I want to see 1-5 demolition job, but actually a dirty 1-0 with Hakan penalty works even better.

Disgusting filthy scummy Rube.

Fiorentina useless bag of dicks. Always gifting Juve 6 points, always selling them their best players.
They haven't gave them 6 points since 2018/2019. 2 wins, 3 draws, 4 losses after that.

While we are 2 wins, 1 draw, 5 losses vs Juventus in the same period losing twice to them in two seasons. So we'll be able to be better than Viola in games vs Juventus only if we win in Torino in a few weeks.

We're better if we include the cup/supercup games, 2 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss while Viola lost twice to them two seasons ago.

Inter played some champagne football under Conte. Don't fall over that "ugly football under Conte" propaganda.

Gobbi plays nothing like Conte's Inter. We were far more entertaining.
You're referring to a brief spell that included Sensi and Sanchez on the lineup

Ugly football under Conte is a big lie that only ignorants buy it.

From March till May of 2021 and win against Crotone that secured scudetto( talking about games against Parma, Atalanta, Torino, Bologna, Sassuolo, Cagliari, Napoli, Spezia and Verona) we got dozens of the ugliest wins I ever witnessed as longtime Inter fan. Do you remember those games?? It was ugly as Allegri can be! Yea, it got us scudetto but to claim that ugly football under Conte is a big lie is total bullshit.

Completely agree with this one and why I wrote last night that I don't consider them as serious contenders. You really have to have the ability to impose yourself, or else you are fucked. If you can impose yourself and win games like they do, then we can talk about them being contenders. Fuckers had 28% ball possession in the first half last night.

Having said all of that, I still think allegri overall chose the right type of tactics for the limited talent he has on his disposal, but long term it will only bite them in the ass cos that's not the way to build a seria a winning team imo. But I don't think they give a fuck about long term right now, their only goal is to get back in cl and that's it.

bingo., they dont care about the long term future, its a team with significant overhaul needs, and e.g. vlhaovic will be out in the summer anyway given his cost of ownership

You could easily imagine maybe half of the team changing in the next 4 windows, for example.

Getting back into the CL money is the goal. Its the perfect time to introduce a more boring, more mechanical football to get through results and come top 4

The most important thing is that we conceded very little and scored the most. It's wasn't particularly pretty football, not really prime Wenger Arsenal, but in the league we were bulldozing. Whoever disagrees is a liar.

they were not ugly games, but it's impossible to win each game in the league in good style with many goals. With Conte we were able to get 3 points event if we were out of form.
Allegri plays like this all the time, no matter if his team is in good form or not.

With Conte we were breaking all time scoring records.

Italian media are already comparing current Juve defence with prime Barzagli-Bonucci-Chiellini. They have even given it a new acronym. GBD(+R).

Nothing wrong with just-enough wins tbh. Had Juve not known how to attack and all teams would have known it before hand, why can't they get one point with 0-0?

It is proven, objectively, that Juve squeezed enough pressure so that the opponents commited mistakes.

One 1-0 could be due to luck but a series of such are not. All in their plan.
