Reading the comments from other footballsites.... juBe get's alot of negativity for their decision. But as we all know, in a week or so people will forget about it and juBe will have their xtra 3 points.

you claim that de laurentiis used personal connections to get some doctors to send this letter which forces the players to quarantine: personally, i don't rule out anything, but for the reason explained above, the most logical explanation is that Campania simply keeps on being very strict, making no exceptions.

and in any case, as things stand, the players must remain in isolation.

It doesn't look like a law or decree though. Looks like a recommendation to self isolate and not travel.

Overall, this would be pretty stupid of lega calcio to come to an agreement on how to treat these cases, but then don't have an agreement with local health authorities.

given where europe is with the number of cases every day, to be honest, I think this season is going to be heavily distorted again too.

I reckon one more team gets a lot of cases in Serie A and there'll be heavy pressure to pause the season.


You just cant risk peoples lives like this. Sport can go fuck itself against people getting deadly viruses. Remember, its not just about death, but also long term lung damage for example.

they should have known it could happen.

According to Serie A's protocol, every team must play if they have at least 13 players available (including Primavera players!), of which at least 1 is a goalkeeper; but every team is allowed to ask for their match to be postponed once, if they have at least 10 players who tested positive (which is what genoa did).

napoli's lawyer grassani said yesterday that napoli promptly informed juventus, serie a, lega and sporting judge of the letter the club received.

some newspapers argue that a new, specific law from the central government is necessary, which makes sense. i guess a new law would have to state specific and explicit exceptions for the sporting events.
