The connotations of being a attacking midfielder is quite different than that of a playmaker. Plus, being a attacking midfielder is a rather vague term, whereas I think that being a playmaker is quite specific. You could probably get away with calling Guarin an attacking midfielder, but certainly not a playmaker.

I mentioned Brazil specifically, since we're talking of Hernanes and terminologies - that's how playmakers are called in Brazil.

I actually feel that Napoli actually are pretty close to having all the right pieces now. If Zuniga and Rafael are fit next season, and they get a quality CB I feel their squad will be one of the top 10 in Europe.

They could do with a backup to Higuain too though

Dugan Zapata is be Higuan back up, I look for him to get better next year in his second year in Europe. I thought Mascherano was almost a sure thing for them? I'm not familiar with Gonalons, but from what I've heard he's pretty highly rated. A good midfield partner for Jorginho can take his team a long ways.

Haven't seen Gonalons, but if he is half as good as some say, he can be huge for them. Also Jorginho, he is not impressing me in Napoli YET (i expected too much i guess, of all the hype pencilpal put on him ). But he is doing good, and i'd suspect he will be much better next year.

That being said, they need CB and RB now. GK maybe, but Rafael impressed me pretty much every time I saw the guy, way more than Reina.

I think Napoli have pretty good depth in attack. Pandev's been pretty good in filling holes in the front four. Maybe a backup Hamsik, although I think Mertens could do a job there.

I agree on the defense, they could do with more FB options (Maggio just isn't a RB) and Albiol's CB partners suck.
