How much winning the Supercoppa Italiana is worth

Inter, Fiorentina, Lazio and Napoli are in the Supercoppa Italiana, which could be worth €8m to the winning team in this new Final Four format in Saudi Arabia.

The dates were changed a few times before they were finally locked down due to the new venue and shape of the competition.

Traditionally, it was only between the holders of the Coppa Italia and the Scudetto winners, but now includes the runners-up for both those trophies too.

They are all played at the Al-Awwal Park Stadium in Riyadh at 19.00 GMT, Napoli-Fiorentina on January 18 and Inter-Lazio on January 19.

The winners of the two semi-finals will then face off on January 22, again at 19.00 GMT.

If the games are level after 90 minutes, they go straight to a penalty shoot-out without waiting for extra time.

VAR, Goal-Line Technology and the Semi-Automatic Offside systems will all be in use.

Calcio e Finanza analysed the paperwork and found the Lega Serie A receives €23m from Saudi Arabia for letting them host the event, with €16.2m of that going to the clubs.

The losing semi-finalists receive €1.6m each, the beaten Finalist gets €5m and the winner of the Supercoppa Italiana takes home €8m.

That is a huge improvement on last season when the Supercoppa was a one-off match with a total €7.5m in prize money shared between the two clubs.
Let's pick this money up first

It’s the opposite. Inter is more popular domestically but Milan have a bigger global following. Or at least that’s the general perception.

I am Inter fan, my brother is a Milan fan.

Being in Australia, i think I can count the times on one hand how many times I have run into another Inter fan. Most are Milan or Juve...

I would say, i found the Slav community to have a lot of Inter fans a decade or so ago with the Croation and Serb players being prevalent in the squad.

I don't agree. There's significant net equity in the club. Future revenue forecasts are also pretty solid if one is willing to reduce our cost basis a bit. Milan are profitable for example.

Losses and bankrupt aren't equivalent

If you meant inter in the broader multidecade historic sense then yes, but if you meant Inter as in the last few seasons no

Does anyone actually know the position?

i.e - Debt v Income

My perception is we're operating almost breakeven or operational surplus, and would be profitable within 3/4 seasons.

Same kind of deal with me when I was in France a couple years ago...saw several Juve shirts (badly wanted to try some shit talk with one of them for fun, but I was not trusting my limited French to be enough on that one), quite a few Milan shirts...precisely one Inter shirt.

And I'm sure it's no better here in the United States when Juve has two American internationals and Milan has two American internationals, one of them being the biggest star of the national team, but truth be told I've never been much of a pub-type so I don't see people and their teams very often to know what the scene is like where I live. I was fully prepared to go somewhere to watch the Final last year until someone from the pub tipped me off that it was gonna be at least 75% Man City supporters...maybe if it was another game but I wasn't gonna handle the Final well in a circumstance like that.

Gotta say, traitorous cunt that I am, the only Serbian player at Inter that I genuinely loved was Jugovic, and he was already done as a footballer by the time he arrived. I loathed Sinisa Mihajlovic (god rest his soul) as a person, as our NT coach, stillhappy he never coached Inter. But since he's dead, one thing I loved was when he said: Ronaldo is running and in front of him only Nesta and I." 😂 Thanks for that u pos

And I never really understood why Inter fans loved Deki. I guess he is a good guy, which is a huge plus of course, but as a player..meh

I think Sacchi's ACM was big in Serbia in the 90s, a lot of ACM fans among that generation afaik

Sure, but he wasn't really the nicest person out there. Maybe in his later years, but as a player he had a few feuds and choice words that made him look a bit ... primitive?

SMH, he was a legend and quality footballer. How could you hate Mihajlovic...

There were some local stuff as well, but since I veered us off topic, I'll end with an irrelevant but fun trivia, to me at least, that he admittedly wore bigger shoes because he thought he had small feet lol

Smart thing to hold off. We are on our way for the title and Champions is not done yet. We have mini tripletta still on the menu and we're hungry!!

Obv sponsors want to quickly do the deals now to make it more cheaper. Just like us with Lautaro, but he & his agent know Vlahovic bum will be getting 12M€ net in 5 months.
