Any idea why we sell only 40k season tickets when Meazza full capacity is over 70k?

Away section, Milan game and general ticket sales may generate more funds due to derbies since season tickets include CL games iirc.

And then there's the demand factor.

let's not speak too soon about who bought who

really don't want Milan to become Manchester City for the next 20 years

I still think if Milan is bought then someone will buy Inter.

History, between the two clubs is free exposure. McDonald’s v Burger King etc

Can’t have one without the other

Gazzetta rumors we will make 25m per season deal with Nike, possibly for 5-8 years.

Absolute travesty. Milan gets 30m from Puma although they don't get anything from the merchandise like we do. But still, our deal should be WAY higher if it's 8 years. Even for 5 years that's too low. If it's 8 years, the figure should be going to 50m per till the end of the deal.

I cannot accept they would do another super long deal with shit terms.

Let's hope Gazzetta is way too premature with their reporting on this one. What a terrible fucking deal this sounds.

I think the difference is that we self-manage and get revenues. Puma are paying to get all of Milan's revenue from their kit, we are sponsored to have someone produce kit for us.

Apparently last year it made like an extra 4m in revenues for us, so it pretty much takes us to parity to Milan - except that, we have risk-reward in our deal, whereas Milan have no risk-reward balance. If Inter Marketing can take things off in the next few years, we'll make more money than Milan. Quite nice to have that in our own hands, imho.

I know but still. It should be given we get more than Milan. We've been in CL for quite some time already, made it to knockouts finally. I'd be okay with these numbers if the term was 3 years. It would be make it or break it for Inter. Establish as CL knockouts team, win Scudetto or two and we can talk about different numbers.

Now we have no upside if all that happens with that five, possibly even EIGHT, years deal. Our current level should already give us that 30m (merchandise included) so max 3 years should be enough.

We should call Adidas right away.

What I fear is our financial situation dictates these negotiations, with all sponsors like main sponsor and kit sponsor. So we need to rely on these crypto scams to get good-ish deal on the main sponsor and then we get this lowball shit for the kit deal.

Thanks Zhangs you useless cunts.

AIUI though, the 25mil is basically the sponsorship for them to have the rights to manufacture our shirt. Milan lose 100% of their revenue for 30 mil, we lose (I assume some, but I dont have the full details) of ours for 25mil.

We do need to, overall, improve our sponsorship game and get some better, long term, sustained sponsors - but I do think a general move to regain control of our own marketing rights is a good thing

The problem isn't that the Zhangs are at fault, the problem is that they're indeed useless.

They relied on strategic CHINESE deals (from Korea, Japan etc) to get sponsorship money into Inter and made some shady (?) deals with other Chinese companies to transfer funds between them, I assume to get it international "approval" as it had to turn into Euros or Dollars for the transactions to take place. Now that China has blocked all this, they have nothing.

The "autarky" business model can no longer work with the Chinese because it never was a thing in the first place. We had injections from Asia that are no longer here and the only deals these guys can get in touch with are crypto scammers who're involved with the Chinese because of their shady Hong Kong domiciled businesses.

The Chinese have enemies, they have people that distrust them and they're an economic red flag. A fund on the other hand has a ton of people that wants to suck their balls.

People whine about Moratti, but the financial situation in the 2015-2019 period was much more favorable than the 2008-2013 period and I trust he'd do much better than Thohir and Suning combined if he was in charge (provided that the damage from 2008-2013 wasn't irreparable). And if the shares were magically given back to Moratti from Suning in 2020, we'd be in a much better financial state now. There'd be more trust to the Inter brand. Now there's barely any, it's on autopilot and people are still very suspicious. Our exposure to China is unparalleled to anything in top European football. Not even Abramovich's Chelsea was as exposed to Russia, not even to the slightest. Ours is tenfold, or more.

With player like Dybala we would sell shit loads of shirts and other Inter junk.

So we should get him just for marketing perspective and with that Nike shirt deal we would beat Milan easy? I think he has something like 50m followers in IG and Inter only 8,5m

Football italia wrote this.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter and Nike are now deep in negotiations to iron out a new agreement. The deal will see the Milanese club earn more than €30m, which is more than double compared to the previous agreement.

If you open that article, you can notice it's based on that exact same Gazzetta story. Ie. 25m+ per year. But then we have the merchandise and licensing of the kits which equaled 4m in 20/21. So that's the 30m.

Look the discussion above.

Upside is very limited, don't you think?

The issue here is the term of the deal. With this number, 3 years would be fine, not 5, let alone 8.

Don't know. We are basically at parity with Milan now, so any additional increase is worthwhile right?

But Milan shouldn't be our measurement stick, don't you think? We are established CL team, Scudetto year ago, two trophies this year, CL knockouts this year. Milan is far behind us in terms of exposure.
