Figo can come on as a sub at the 60th minute. The thing about this guy nowadays is, when you start him you have to prepare a sub for him. To me, that's a big risk in a tough game like this. Because there could be injuries and red cards, and another reason is that if he's on the field, Stankovic always had to shift back to a more defensive row.

Just to retaliate on those who blindly claim that zanetti dived! Please take off your bloody zebra / red and black goggles and look at the Valencia defenders knee! Then come back and talk. So stop the BS talk.

Further, as part of my thoughts right after the game I wrote that we can beat them in their home ground and now having slept on the idea can say the same. They are not all that and If we can get Cuchu fit for this one we could hit them fast and hard.
They surely didn’t deserve the draw and they know it.
Finally the ref was a disgrace and should have really red carded himself long before the final whistle.

p.s what a horrendous turn up we had last night! It’s a pity really… I expected everyone (all season ticket holders) to be there, but based on what the commentary said that was not the case.

On defenders:
The only mistake on the line-up this time is Burdisso. He should stay in the middle and partner Matrix instead of replacing Maxwell.

On midfielders:
As I have said before, Dacourt was TIRED! He couldn't start the game. Seemingly he didn't perform as brilliant as in the Cagliari's game so that partially proves my assumption correct. Undoubtedly Figo's set-pieces skill will be useful in a CL game, especially when you expect your opponents will play conservatively in an away game. Also, don't forget that when Cambiasso was substitued, there's no one responsible for switching sides and dictating the tempo. The only thing I will complain about is: sub Figo by Solari in around 60mins. Otherwise, don't waste any seconds in the final moment.

On strikers:
For Crespo, fine. He's always like that. Imagine when he scored and you guys will give a standing ovation for him, right? He is a typical box-striker so don't complain about it when you have decided to put a "sometimes-reliable" player onto the pitch. But for Cruz's substitution, I'm neutral. Obviously he's not in form but he still gave a superb assist. Remember the game against Parma? He missed plenty of passes but still managed to score a goal.
YOU CAN ALWAYS TRUST A BOX-STRIKER BUT NEVER RELY ON A BOX STRIKER

We will have Vieira in 2nd leg, so I hope Figo will end on bench
His set pieces are brillant, but as Sasuke said, in today's football, you can't aford to play someone who you know you will have to sub

Sadly,we didn't win after 2 leads, but we are strong enough to go there and win. Let's just hope we will do that

How will we have Viera?? from all accounts his injury is serious. Some say 6 weeks out.

Am I the only one happy with a 2-2 draw???????????

Hearing some of the goBi and the BBilanisti you'd think that we lost 0-4 at Meazza. That ain't true. First of all Lets analyze the players. Julio Cesar was good, maybe not good enough. At the first goal he couldn't do shit, maybe at the second one he could've done something right. Burdiso was great at defending, but he couldn't push through the left like maxwell does. Anyways I didn't miss Maxwell because his defensive skills are shit. So, Burdiso it's not the problem. Crespo, unlike many of you around here, had a great game, that's right. He moved around a lot and he had chances to score a goal. The players that should've replaced right away were, Ibrahimovich and Figo. Figo was very tired and you could see it, and Ibra just didn't feel like playing. I just don't know why, but the players yesterday seemed very tired, and that was our only problem yesterday. Probably our best "tactic" has been our mighty physical strength towards the other team. And yesterday on the second half, the team looked like just didn't feel like playing.

Now the question that I want to ask is?

AM I THE ONLYONE HAPPY WITH THIS DRAW?

After they scored to us, I said to myself, this better end up in a draw, because after we scored the second goal this game smelled a lot like Villareal.
I think that the players knowing that they have apsolutely no advantage, but they're a little in disadvantage, it'll make them more motivated and cautious. To be honest with you. I am not scared at all. I'm very positive as an interista that we'll win the other game. Knowing our team this thing it's not possible to happen.

Yeah, I think people are overly critical of Crespo. His header could or could not have gone in. If it actually went in, people would be hailing him as a hero. Since it didn't, now people are saying that he sucks. So basically, whether a player is awesome or worthless depends on a few millimeters of where the ball hits the head? Pretty laughable to me. I think the only reason why people are blaming Crespo is because he "took" Adriano's spot and since Adriano has been here for a long time, everyone loves him but not Crespo. Heck, Adriano wasn't even 3rd choice to play in that game. Mancini has his reasons and despite what you say, he's probably a better coach than most of the people here. :)

Offcourse people are going to blame him if he misses chances because that his one and only role in the side. He is in the side to finish. Nothing else.

I am a big fan of Toldo, but I must admit JC is better inside the box with his reflections but he is not as good with long range shots, I dont know what is the solution, but I wont change GK in the mid of everything,

I am still confident. 2-2 is better than 2-1

No matter what your feeling is, based on competition rule, 2-2 means Valencia grabed two away goals, the only way to kill this team is to WIN away, no other options.

Ironically, we beated them in a similar, typical counter-attack way several years ago, perhaps now it's time to pay back?

Actually, we can still win if we draw 3-3 at Valencia. Mark my words, it might just happen!

The crowd was pathetic. They call themselves Inter fans (the ticket holders who did not attend).

I read this in another thread but I agree with enzee that a decent keeper should never beaten by a free-kick in his near post, let alone a keeper of Inter!

I have been glad with JC's progress, but mistakes like that will be costly (and this one might.) That wasn't a super FK AT ALL, but JC made it look super.

I still believe that we will qualify, but I am glad we were humbled. I hope all those who said 'we will destroy Valencia' got boned up the ass and won't flatter themselves and act like stupid fans next time around.

A special shout out to Shah, lmao man, that comment about Juve coming back, Milan improving and us finishing third was damn hilarious. Sadly, I think it may happen because our own fans are jinxing us.

*Left right thing ---> Assuming we are Valencia facing Inter goal

How is that his near post. He was standing on the left, the ball went to the right. And he was standing on the right spot too. For every free kick that is taken on the right, the goalkeepere stands on the left and places his wall on the right.

If anything, he was at fault of setting his wall too much to the left, which allows Villa to bend the ball around the wall, something that is an absolute crime.

lol, I don't understand near or far either, I just took enzee words and I thought that is what they are called.

All I saw in the goal is that JC seemed to be really close to where the ball went in and still let it in. In any case, his weakness in dead-balls seems not to go away (but considerably improved over last year.)
