Maxwell are way more in form compared with Grosso. Barca down 2-0. We must be at our very best if we want something from this game.

Is it just me or did Vialla get injured?? I wasn't following the game but when I was channel hoping I saw him on the bench with a brace around the calf.

Another point I wonder how much this win took out of the valencia players.

seems to me Villa didnt get injured. At least he wasnt substitute for injury. He might feel little sore from the physical game. Match turned ugly but I believe Villa was rested for game agaisnt us this Wed.

Nope we are perfectly fine. We know valencia are a very good side. But we should have faith that our team has learned there lessons from last season.

No we are not. They just won against probably the best team in the world, but we are not afraid. Mancio must approach the game with the best way possible. We have all the material to send those spaniards back home with a defeat. Still im going for a 1-0 or maybe 2-0 home win. We`ll see. Forza Inter.

What has to do the league with the champions league? last year we lose vs parma and win vs vilarreal, 2 weeks later we beat 3-0 messina and lose vs villarreal in the return game, IT HAS NOTHING TO DO THE LEAGUE WITH THE CL.

About Grosso, nobody should expect him to play like he did in the WC - that summer he was inspired and different circumstances mean some of them Italian players will never play the way they did again.

I think this game proved that Valencia is going to let us take the initiative. Ball possession was 70 to barca and 30 to Valencia..
They will be very dangerous. Their defence especially is impressive. But I still think imperatore is gonna have a good game against them, after all he's owned them before ;) I'm more worried for Ibra, I can't remember a CL match where he's dominated like he does in the serie A. I hope he proves me wrong.

Despite a crappy first half from Barca I still think they played pretty well. Their full backs let them down on both goals and if I were Mancini I would strap tethers to both Maicon and Maxwell so that they can not go into the other half.

Second you have to remember Barca always get a lot of posession I dont think Valencia will hand that much possession to us as they did in this game.

Both their goals were avoidable had both the Barca fullbacks been in the right positions. Plus Puyol should stopped Angulo's run that was pretty bad on his part.

I think the fact that Barca only play with one holding midfielder a slow one at that really did them in. Plus their fullbacks were on all out attack mode, which was dumb.

Hopefully Inter's three centeral midfielders and smarter fullbacks will be able to keep it together a little better than Barca.

What worries me though is Inter' speed we are by no means a fast team and Barca, a very fast team, were only getting chances from playing the ball around quickly and through the midfield quickly.

Personally I fear Maicon and Maxwell are not good enough defensively for this Valencia side and it might be a better idea to play Zanetti at LB, Burdisso at RB and Dacourt in the midfield. This would mean Calamity Cordoba will have to start but despite his poor positioning it is speed that we are going to need against this Valencia side and their swift counter attacks.

Wally, you do know your stuff no doubt about that, but I wouldn't wanna change what's been working for us so far this season. Maxwell and definitely Maicon have been keys to our success by pushing forward to join the attack.

With Vieira and Cuchu holding up the center of the pitch and JZ running around like a maniac, I think our defense is still well covered when our fullbacks push forward. Valencia isn't Empoli or Reggina but if we keep patient and do what we've been doing since the Bayern loss, we'll get a positive result at the Meazza.

Nice attitude Mike and I hope you are right Brad. It might be total chaos to mess with the system this late into the season for one game. BUT a smart and cohesive team with a proper manager knows how to adapt his squad to limit the strengths of others.

It would be naive to think that by continuing to play the way that we are with no regard for Valencia's strengths we can come out with a win. Not saying that you are implying that Brad but we need to do something about Valencia's string counter attacks.

They remind me of a better version of Roma with better forwards.

I agree, We might use Zanetti as LB to replace Maxwell or Grosso
but we definitely should pay Maicon, attacking sometimes can be the best defensive option. Maicon have been one of our winning chemistry and Mancio even rested him for this match. Theres no reason to leave him out of the squad

Maicon has been a revelation this season and with our formation having no real wingers at all, he is imperative to us should we wish to have any penetration down the flanks at all.

I mean, look at it this way, to be able to push out J.Zanetti out of his regular position, you have to be a God-damn good player.

Maicon is fine.

Maxwell is a very, very big risk. I would play Grosso ahead of him because Grosso knows how to handle pressure and he knows how to play in big matches. This isn't overrating him, it's pure facts, plus if Grosso plays, Valencia would pay him much more respect than they would with Maxwell.

First leg: Grosso left back.
Second leg (depends on circumstances): Zanetti left back, Dacourt central midfield.
