I get the point actually, but your theories are not true. You're talking based on emotions which doesn't fit to reality of what happened. First of all, Icardi was here for many years, and captaincy was given to him as a gift for his efforts, commitment towards the club and also impact in overall. He didn't have leadership attribute, but club probably thought giving him captaincy would make him remain in this club for a long time and somewhat build the team around him.
Almost same case was with Skriniar once he was given captaincy. Our club wanted to show him that they really want him to remain here, and probably thought with captaincy on his shoulder, he would change his mind and extend his contract which didn't happen. Not the same situation with Icardi, but as an example that captaincy was given to him not because of his leadership, but because the guy was a great servant towards clubs objectives.
In fact, we lacked players of leadership attribute. Not even Handa was a true leader IMHO. He was way too mute for a captain. Can never deny his professionalism but a leader is more than that, exactly what Lautaro is. I dunno, each one to his own but to spit on Icardi's name is a sign of unthankfulness for me.
He acted like a piece of shit in recent phase of his Inter career but his contributions, decisiveness and everything else, deserves some credit. On another note, we've also had situations where Inter acted as an incompetent club towards some players in the past, but these things happen almost everywhere. As long as Icardi doesn't sign for gobbi or Milan, I will always respect him for what he's done for this club.
