Catania blah blah Jonathan blah blah Gomez. OK, now that we got the match discussion out of the way...

edit: :trollol: just realized this isn't the Catania thread. OK, so replace Gomez with something that ends in vić

Not good enough. Stranded on an island in the South Pacific with Jack, Locke and the Others sounds a lot better

(Excuse my Lost reference as I'm in the process of re-watching it again)

You're re-watching it? Jesus. I watched it once and am angry enough about that.

Yesterday one Partizan supporter has started his journey to Milan on bike. He will have to go 1.150 km.

I hope it's not a violent match and our players don't get injuries.
If they cause us problems they should get booted out of the competition, serbs are noted for been troublemakers.

Even though I dislike them heavily... they have been doing fairly stable in the Serbian league as of late. They can cause some problems on the counter as they have 2 kids who are serious talents. Maybe not like Oscar (World Class Talent) but still very good. I am unsure if the Partizan boss, Vladimir Vermezovic will risk a lot considering the league is still the priority.

In recent news, the No. 1 GK (Vladimir Stojkovic) broke his collarbone last week so his chances of playing are out the window. They will either start their experienced back up in Radisa Ilic or go with Nikola Petrovic who made his debut in the Veciti Derby against Red Star Belgrade when they lost 1-0.

In defense they have some solid options. Ivan Ivanov, a Bulgarian international leads the back alongside Milos Ostojic (an Academy product) and another who made his true debut last year. The left back, Vladimir Volkov starts for Montenegro at left back and is quite good going forward. If Inter push on heavily forward then the break will most likely come from him if it's down the left. On the other side is Aleksandar Mijkovic who is a very average defender. Solid in 1v1 situations (barring his mistake vs Rubin) but very limited going forward consistently.

In defensive midfield they have a player from Sierre Leone known simply as Medo (quite funny in Serbian because it means little bear), and he is a very mobile operator in front of their back line. I would say he is probably their best midfielder. He is very simple on the ball, and while he doesn't offer a lot going forward, he has a high work ethic. Depending on injuries and rotation he should be partnered by Sasa Markovic who is more of a box-to-box midfielder but once again nothing to write home about. He is a youth product of the OFK Belgrade academy (Ivanovic, Rajkovic, and Kolarov came from there) and just became a starter for Partizan this year.

In front of them are some of the better players for Partizan... It all depends if Vermezovic uses a 4-2-3-1 or the 4-3-3. Either way on the right wing side, playing as inside forward will be Lazar Markovic (the talent everyone on here has talked about). He is a very pacey player who you pretty much can't beat on the sprint. His ball control has improved as well over the past 6 months, but his composure in front of goal is still not quite what it should be. Of course if he keeps developing he will be an awesome player, but he still needs to mature. He is still only 18 after all. In terms of pure pace he is the best Partizan have, and whoever starts on the left hand side of that 3 central back pairing, and the left wide back will really have to be up for it.

On the left will probably be Nemanja Tomic. He is a solid wing attacker but he has nowhere the pace of Markovic. He has a couple of caps for Serbia, but nothing to write home about. His biggest asset is his ball control and dribbling. If the Inter defenders dive in then he will use that to his advantage but if the Inter players just stand him up he will not be able to do much. He will pass the ball back a lot. He is tricky, but sometimes tries too much.

Another player who should feature is Nikola Ninkovic, the 17 year old playmaker. He made his debut last year for Partizan (at 16!) and he is the real gem in my opinion. I rate him more highly than Lazar Markovic just because he has very good vision, and that will come on as he matures. He might be a little too young and inexperienced to have a huge impact on this game (especially considering Partizan will be under pressure for most of it) but look for some unique things about this kid if he features. He should start behind the striker but I don't know if Vermezovic will save him for the league.

Up front there are 3 main options in Marko Scepovic, Stefan Scepovic, and Aleksandar Mitrovic. All three are relatively big (Mitrovic especially considering he is only 18) but none of them have something that sets them apart. Stefan Scepovic has been the most regular striker, but Mitrovic has been scoring some goals recently and could get the nod considering the rotation in place.

Overall I expect a 4-2-3-1 with Partizan trying to play their passing game and on the counter. The main threats attacking wise for me are going to come from Lazar Markovic, and Nikola Ninkovic... possibly Tomic if Johnathan starts.

If Inter start with a mixed starting 11/second 11 side I predict a 2-0 victory. Partizan are relatively well organized, but as their trip to Kazan showed they can be broken down.

Jonathan will start this game. Remember that he was saved by Strama last night by playing Obi on the right? :derp:

The last time that we played against Partizan it was in 1990/1991 in Uefa Cup .... at the end of the season we won the trophy.
