He does belong to our squad. Just only in the perifery (spelling)... Which is how it should be IMO.

I think saying he has forgotten Rebecchi is overreacting a little... :) Mario is in the first team to learn, get called up, play in case of extreme emergency. His biggest chance of playing is in Coppa Italia. And who knows, maybe he will.

It´s easy to make too much out of an interview. I don´t believe any of us really know what plans we and Mancini have for Rebecchi.

And the odd possibility: He considers him a RW... :D:D

You might be right, I might be. The point is we simply don´t know... ;)

My theory is that he considers Stankovic our first choice LW, Emre the second choice, Andy VDM our third choice, Karagounis our fourth choice and Rebecchi the fifth choice. Kily is a mistery to me... So since Rebecchi is so low in the pecking order he doesn´t feature in Mancini´s plans? I don´t think so. We´re also building a team for the future and Rebecchi could easily be part of that future team.

Emre, Stankovic, Karagounis nor Andy VDM are pure left wingers. Kily is and Rebecchi is from what I hear. He mentioned only Kily maybe because he´s the most realistic one to actually get to play for Inter´s first team in an official match.

Therefore I don´t see the big deal to be frank. :lala:

Whatever you say... My logic tells me that when someone counts one and not the other, the other doesn´t belong to any plans.

Yep, as you may have noticed they are not having the best of times and the best part is that they have been rather disappointing in defence (Where did I hear that before? :D ) I’ll give them credit though, the line-ups above are surely not their ideal eleven, and if my amazing powers are true, we should expect this line-up in the G. Meazza...

Usual Suspects
Frey - I’m sure we are all used to his talent by now, let’s wish he doesn’t show his true form. :scared:
Morfeo – He has been quite a performer at Parma, if only we had been a bit more patient...He’s not totally fit, so hopefully he’ll end up having a frustrated night in Milan. :D
Gilardino – It’s going to take a lot of effort for Gilardino to perform the wonders he did last season, I always did rate him as a one hit wonder but his display in the UEFA cup this season was a bit impressive...Let’s hope he doesn’t do the same against US!

New boys
P. Cannavaro – He’s defiantly matured this season, I think the reshuffle in Parma’s backline and the departure of Ferrari has done him wonders
Potenza – A very explosive defender, and the best part is that we own him!
Simplicio – An unknown midfielder in Europe, yet such a huge hit in South America with Sao Paulo.
Rosina – Parma fans seem to like him, and so do some of the press... :)

Adriano - #10
So far this will be the biggest test the squad has faced this season. Hopefully Mancini fields a side destined for victory. I'd like to see Emre stay on the field and Stankovic given a rest.

Though I'm wondering if Veron ever is given a rest, who will replace him? Cambiasso? Karagounis?

I disagree Parma will be our biggest test so far. I rate both Basel, Werder Bremen and Palermo stronger. I agree Stankovic could use a rest and Emre should play in his place vs. Parma on Sunday. Veron was rested against Atalanta, Emre replaced him. Also Davids was rested for most of the game - Cambiasso replaced him.

;)

When will we see Kily?????

I am sure if we see Kily on the left and VDM on the right with Emre and Veron in the middle it will be one hell of a lineup...

Rest Stan and maybe put Davids in when we have alead to protect at the end...And i hope we see Recoba from the start and Martins coming in for him and not Vieri who might need a rest away from football.

We will not see him until he recovers from his injury and Mancini decides that he would be useful for our team. ;) When will that happen? Only Mancini knows...

Do you prefer Emre over Davids? Or is it simply because you think the former is in better form? :)

I too hope to see Stankovic rested and Recoba instead of Vieri making Martins our ace to put in if needed.

This game should be an easy win. We're historically strong against Parma at the S Siro and they re doing terrible so far. We really must win without troubles this time.

My line-up:

TOLDO

J ZANETTI--CORDOBA--MATERAZZI--FAVALLI

ZE MARIA--VERON--DAVIDS--RECOBA

ADRIANO--MARTINS

We should rest Stanko, I think we could play Chino on the left.

If Veron is not fit we should play Emre in his place.

Before the season began I wrote down this lineup in my scrap book:

Toldo

J. Zanetti - Cordoba - Materazzi - Coco

Stankovic - Emre - Davids - Recoba

Adriano - Vieri

But since Veron performed very well so far, Vieri and Adriano still don´t seem to be a good combo and Favalli is stable while Coco is still not ready to play I could do these moderations for a possibly good lineup vs. Parma inspired by your lineup, Francesco:

Toldo

J. Zanetti - Cordoba - Materazzi - Favalli

Ze Maria - Veron - Davids (Recoba)

Recoba

Adriano - Martins

By fielding this we keep our strongest defence intact, we have three strong midfielders defencevely to give Recoba freedom on the left and as a fantasista and inject speed and sharpness in attack next to Adriano thanks to Martins replacing a so far dissapointing Vieri.

Toldo

Zanetti - Cordoba - Burdisso - Favalli

VDM - Veron - Davids - Stankovic

Adriano - Recoba

Let Martins come at the half-time if il Chino didn't provide .

Emre in place of Stankovic if he was tired but keeping him out would be like loosing the spark in the team .

Vieri shall try his luck if we are winning instead of the exhausted Adriano .

Burdisso shall play and we should give him our full support and let him remain solid and confident as if nothing happened in the last match . this is very crucial for such a young talent like he is .

Please Inter , Let us Finish the match Early without worrying till the last minute :proud:

ZE MARIA - VERON - DAVIDS - STANKOVIC

ADRIANO - RECOBA

Personally, I think that Vdmeyde should be rested for this match. He's a player based on pace and dribbling, and that kind of players need their amount of rest to perform on a top level continuosly.

Materazzi should be given a rest as well. He's deserved it.
Stankovic can play this match, but should DEFINITELY rest for the next one. Same goes for Adriano.

I really liked the Werder Bremen lineup and everyone played well in that one so i would go with it unless there are a couple of injuries here and there but instead of Vieri please put Recoba...

As i said before we need to start strong on our pitch and start with Emre and Veron..They did well on both ends the last time they played together.I would insert Davids only when we need to solidify defence and the scoreline is beneficial to us.

Very tough game, Parma may be in bad shape but I think that their team has a lot of class players and could seriously cause us some problems. Once they gel and start playing up to their true potential, I can easily see them stringing a coulple of very impressive performance.

I don't have much to say right now since I'm on the go, but I'll post my line-up.

Toldo

Zanetti - Cordoba - Burdisso - Favalli

Van der Meyde - Veron - Davids - Stankovic

Adriano - Recoba

Anything less than a good performance netting us 3 pts will not be good. We're obviously the better team and should outplay them, controlling the tempo and being able to fire shots at them and make their defenders feel the pressure.

From what I've seen, Mancini is no coward. He's got some great players and will not be scared to give them the green light to attack on all cylinders. I'm so excited to have such a coach, with so much talent we should use them the best we could. I feel we've always lacked such a coach.

I've seen both play for the Azzurrini and was left impressed. Potenza is a very confident defender, his arial abilities impressed me. Many times just making any tough cross look easy to handle by just clearing it out with his head. Did a very good job.

Rosina was fantastic! a hard worker on the right wing. Doesn't let the left back breathe at all, defends and runs around all game. A skilled player too.
