Lautaro, providing he doesn't begin his usual ghosting session after the NT break, should demolish Kjaer. Barella and Hakan will have to work overtime, as always, to back up Dumfries and Darmian/Pavard against Theo and Leao.

My overriding worry is De Vrij's usual shitshow against Giroud.

Too many optimism on this thread,we're gonna lose this.

Nothing wrong with being optimistic, as long as it's a reasonable situation. Like I said in earlier posts, we are still superior to Milan even if we lose this.

Agree about SDV. Actually, I think Acerbi needs to start this one.

Lord Darmian
yep, I would feel much better seeing Acerbi in starting lineup instead of De Vrij

No, the joke is the short memory of some users here about the abilities of SDV vs massive FWs while Acerbi proved himself vs the best striker in the world last season.

Do you even realize Acerbi hasn't played in month and half? And you wanna throw him instantly in the starting line-up if he's fit to play? That is stupidity of highest level.

de Vrij has been garbage in overall, not only against Giroud. He was VERY bad for a while. It seems like he's finally getting his shit together, so there is absolutely no reason to rush into such decisions of playing Acerbi ahead of him, especially in such an important match.

Also some of you might argue over this, but Haaland is NOT the best striker in the world. Just because he's scoring a bunch of tap-ins doesn't automatically make him the best in the world. Well, at least that's what I think. There's a bunch of other strikers whom are more completed than him and also more decisive in the highest level.

Anyways, going back to the match discussion; I wouldn't change anything unless we are forced to. Play the same line-up as the other matches and make changes when it's necessary.

Their backline is laughable though... Calabria, Kjaer and not yet proven Thiaw. Yikes.

Well, let's not forget the guy is 23...

I understand what you are saying but yet I would prefer to bet on Acerbi than De Vrij because Acerbi might fail but I think De Vrij will definitely fail. Even at his prime years he wasnt good at all agains massive strikers and again, Acerbi proved himself vs Haaland, oshiman, Taremi and Giroud himself.

Also, stupidity of highest level is to say stupid to people who have other opinion than you. Grow up.

Don't have one.
Yeah, everyone saying he will field the same team as in the first three matches, which I don't have problems with heading into this game because it's derby, and it would be maybe too risky to change stuff, but after this game he absolutely needs to rotate, or I would really start to doubt him again. He has more than capable bench, and he needs to start resting some of these players much earlier this season and not overplayed them early on.

My suspicion was always that he was too much of a pussy to do that, even if you give him a deep bench like we did this year, but hopefully he proves me wrong, coz that will be the key if we want to stay competitive throughout the whole season.

Kjaer against fast Thuram should favor us a lot, on paper.
I'm concerned about Bastoni - Dimarco vs Pulishic - L Chick.

you didn't mention our possibily biggest problem, Sommer. I still don't trust him that much. Now that we have a real opponent (at least compared to our first 3) we could concede more shots on goal. Leao and Pulisic have a really good shot, Sommer better be prepared. I already could see him doing a Dida or Karius, hopefully im wrong.

If Giroud plays then SDV on bench is a no brainer.

I didn't mean to offend or disrespect you or anyone else while we discuss.

I just think it makes zero sense to start a player who hasn't played a game in almost two months while you have another one whom is going through a good form, and actually defence as a group is doing quite well with no goals conceded in these three matches so far.

This is like shooting your own self in the foot.

de Vrij might have declined so much over the past couple of years but it's not like he has been having a tough time only against Giroud. He was complete garbage most of times, but like I said, he got his shit together recently and is pretty damn solid. No need to make complications while things are going right.
