It clearly touched his head before going in, it wasn't a dirty play or an intentional handball. It would've been very harsh to disallow the goal because he was left alone and unmarked.
It doesn't matter if it was intentional or not, the goal was irregular..Adriano missed the header and directed the ball towards goal with his hand, it doesn't get any clearer than that..

It was another good derby with both teams playing attacking football and creating good chances..I really thought we're gonna score the second, but Cesar did great to stop couple of shots..Abbiati had a good match too, he kept us alive after numerous mistakes of our poor defense..

Zlatan and Adriano were a constant danger and the latter really should have sealed the match earlier..Inter's midfield again created very little, most of their chances came out of long balls and counterattacks..Ours was better, but with Pato alone up there, it was useless most of the time..

Well, this defeat means that Milan is definitely out of the Scudetto race and with Juve struggling as well, Inter seem to have already taken the title..Damn..

What a game, best game of soccer I've seen in ages. Totally absorbing end to end action, the Derby della Madonnina rarely fails to excite.

Milan played most of the football in the early stages, cut our defence apart on a few occasions, Ronaldinho was class in the first half.

I thought Inter came into the game as it went on and got the goal they deserved, would've been very harsh to disallow it, purely accidental.

Deki's goal topped off a strong finish to the first half. It should've been 3 or 4 early on in the second. Inter were in complete control and cruising to victory.

In fairness to Milan they never gave up and great play from Ronaldinho and Pato got them back into the game.

It was pretty much hell for leather from both teams until the end, great save from Cesar late on, won the match with it.

Pato was class, he's gonna be some player over the next few seasons, shame he won't win anything.

There were so many good performances from the Inter players, all of them played at, or close to, their best during the game. Its great to Adriano playing so well, he looks like the Adriano of old.

Now we can rest a few players next week and concentrate on the CL, if we play like we did tonight we have a great chance of progressing, maybe just tighten up a bit at the back.

What a great way to end the weekend, a win over our local rivals and 9 points clear at the top. This is God's Valentine's gift to Interista's.

Forza Inter.

I feel your pain, honestly. After your goal in first derbies which was "just slightly offside", I was also trying to put emphasis on the irregularities, but hey. It was "just slightly offside", and the "ref should honor offensive play".

You did it, we did it. We're even.

I really hope this derby is going to us the confidence we need heading into all important clash with Man Utd. The away match against Bologna is not on my mind anymore....

Well, refs make mistakes so I rarely put the blame on them..Rosetti isn't the reason for our defeat tonight, the problem is with our team..Milan simply cannot replace key players like Nesta, Kaka, Gattuso and it can be seen in almost every match, let alone vs Inter..

Thank God you have sense. However, something tells me Galliani will sign the new Maldini, Fabio Cannavaro, in the summer and add some youth to your squad by re-signing Christian Vieri. Galliani will then finish his summer transfer market by trading Pato for Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville, and Paul Scholes, with the excuse that unlike Pato, they are World Champions! Inzaghi and Sheva will also get an extension and Borrielo and Gorcuff will be sold to fund the two great purchases of Vieri and Cannavaro.

You should not be upset by your team performance. It was a high quality derby all in all. Milan played very well, just like Inter. I give credit to AC Milan too. They played far better than I expected without Kaka.

To be totally honest, any Milan fan that thinks this game should've been a tie is a moron. Inter should've won like 6-1, it's Adriano's fault for having a beer belly that fatty (still love him)

The main reason Milan's midfield was better then ours is because they had 5 midfielders, let's not forget Jankulovski and Zambrotta like to push forward so you know.

Milan's 2 center backs sucked, especially Kaladze. But it was a rightful game, we had injured center backs during our last derby and your goal was offsides let's not complain about Adriano's goal, he should've had like 4.

Good game though.

First of all I have to say match was terrific. Great football, even my 2 friends, non-Inter fans wanted match not to end.
Credits for that to both clubs, but better got 3 points:)

Milan was to good not to suffer at times, but brilliant Cesar and Chivu were on top, and Milan couldnt get 2nd.

Adriano and Ibra are probably worlds most dangerous strike force. Too strong, to dangerous.

Midfield worked their asses off, had moments of brillance, who can be more happy now then we are

Pazza INTER!!!!

Muntari deserves a mention as well... He held his composure and didn't do any stupid tackles... Santon was also brilliant.

Agreed, this is the best game I've seen Muntari play, he toned it down a bit (disregarding the Beckham incident) and was much more effective.

I haven't realised it, but this is the first time we see Samuel-Chivu in the middle, they did fine I think, but at the end it was an onslaught.

LOL @ Milan fans with 1-1 in favour of them, good laugh!

Something needs to be done to our mentality. After their goal we started falling apart for a little bit. Except Zlatan who's still trying to move forward and get mad when somebody lost the ball.

Also what's with being defensive when there's still 20 minutes left??

When Splinter came in I was more worried than anything else. Normally that's what he does. Caught offside a couple times and when you least expect it he made a goal, especially on the last minute. Thank God it didn't get that far today.

All in all, great performance. BRILLIANT first half. If only we could maintain that (twice) vs ManU.

Credit for Jose. Grande Julio.

Well...to be fair Abbiati did make some good saves too. And I watch only a few --very few-- Milan games, but even those few times I'd seen, I have a feeling that Milan didn't play well today. Not even close. But that could also very well be caused of missing Kaka? Meh, who cares.

Goddamn, this feels good. Woohooooooo!!!

Here is a more unbiased version of the news from uefa.com

Derby success underlines Inter supremacy

Adriano opener
Inter started the day seven points ahead of Juventus, with AC Milan a further point adrift, and had the better of the early opportunities with Adriano heading over and Stanković dawdling to allow a glorious chance to pass him by. It mattered little, though, when Adriano nodded in the opener after 29 minutes from close range following Maicon's cross.

Late response
Milan were breached again on the stroke of half-time when Zlatan Ibrahimović headed down a long ball and Stanković rifled it low inside the near post. The game drifted after the interval until Marek Jankulovski darted to the byline and cut the ball back for Pato to fire in. Filippo Inzaghi, twice, and Pato were both denied by Júlio César as the Rossoneri produced a late onslaught to try to earn a draw.

Great performance by the team. It was not as dominant as the game against Juve but we had more chances in this one because Kaladze was acting like he's Santa Claus.

With regards to Adri's goal, it's undoubtedly irregular. Let's not be biased my fellow Interisti, remember the Inter 3-2 Parma match last season? Couto made the exact same mistake (Ball hit his head then his hand) and all of us thought that the penalty was the right call. It kinda sucked that we won the Derby with an irregular goal but in the end, WHO GIVES A DUMB FUCK!? :)

I love the Zlatan - Adri combo. As someone mentioned, usually when one shines, the other doesn't do as much and in this match, it was Adri who overshadowed Ibra. But that's just it, you have to double team either one of them and it's a Catch 22 case, a pick your poison case. But it was not as if Ibra had a poor match, he was still involved and did some good things, including the assist.

Cambiasso was brilliant. I won't exchange him for another DM on this planet. I'm not saying that he's the best DM in the world or if he'll be in the starting line-up of any other team but for Inter, for this system, for Serie A, he is just perfect.

And a special mention really has to go to Pato. That kid is scary and to think that he's just a teenager on puberty just sends chill down my spine. There's no doubt that Milan has found Shevchenko's replacement and if only he had better support, or a partner tonight, the result could have been different.
