I too am pissed off with Spallo for the Santon sub. Especially given that Icardi is better at defending set pieces than Santon, but that's Italian tacticians in a nutshell though. Allegri did the same thing by overthinking his defense and changing the whole thing. Leaving their most talented player who created their last two goals on the beach for "tactical balance". EDF in the CL for Roma. It happens again and again with Italian coaches who think they're tactical masterminds by tinkering with tactics endlessly.

Back to this game. Yes the referee the ref could be talked about with red card arguably, and Pjanic not being sent off, but in the end I think them playing with a man advantage made them even more nervous. It wasn't until they were behind that they started to play without pressure.

I still see this as a moral victory of sorts, and I think Roma has every change of beating them in the penultimate round so not all hope is lost on the scudetto front imo. Our CL hopes on the other hand...I'm not confident
