Not our best of games, we were lucky we were up against Catania at home, that played on our side, we started the first half very confidently and attacked Catania who were only defending depending on couter attack. In both 1st and 2nd half we seemed to run out of steem as the minutes passed by, not much concern as we are still not a 100% physically. But Catania never looked like they were going to score except for 1 dangerous shot in the 2nd half, all of their other efforts were mediocre.

Our whole game changed when Ibra came on in the 2nd half, along with Stankovic and Zanetti, everything changed when these players came in, and a different Inter was playing, needless to say, Catania never had a chance after that.

But it is refreshing to see we can still win with a formation mostly made out of bench players, missing 6 or 7 key players... That shows a champion team's way, when you can manage to win and get crucial points in tricky circumstances...

A very determined Adriano was running his ass off all over the place, fighting the Catania defenders, and challenging on every ball, he was running back to defence and getting the ball, getting physical with the opposing players, and giving 100%. He showed some flashes of his old self with some cool dribbling and charging with his big build! it showed he was playing with heart and was desperate for a goal, he got a little unlucky in the dying minutes of the game...He had a positively promising game, I am optimistic and glad to see Adriano play like that, he needs to build on this performance to gain spirit and confidence... I am hopful that Adriano will be back to his old level sometime during this season.

Cesar showed he is a player that can be relied on, he deserves none of the lack of confidence he is shown... I have a feeling we will be seing more of him this season, which is good because I was concerned we lacked depth in midfield, seems we have one more midfielder we can use.

positive week, considering Milan drew and Juve lost. Inter Look very strong...

Watching the game from the stands, Adri didn't impress me much. He did more wrongs than rights. The mood and the attitude was a little bit better than last year, but still a long way to the level of Ibra or Crespo. The best thing was that he looked thinner than before and sometime choose to run instead of waving his arms.

People in the stand don't have too much patience with him either, so he still has a long way back. When he fumbled with the ball in his first touch of the game, the guy behind me said "he's still drunk" - I think that reflects the mind of many interista in the stands.

He still has a long way to go, I could not agree more. And I understand that the paying tifosi are frustrated with him, you can't expect them not be be.

But I think he did better then in preseason. Infact he did better then Cruz has done in the two matches he played this season.

The question on my mind is if Adri will be called up for Livorno. And if so who will be left out? Could Mancini really leave Cruz out? That would be very unfair IMO. I think until Adri starts showing some real form he will only get to play Coppa Italia and league matches that are right before CL.

Welcome to the forum btw.:)

Hello everyone,

New to the forza-inter community .. First post!

Thoughts about the match:

Slightly better than our last outing, but still sluggish. At times it seems there is no one in midfield, resulting in a direct play to the forward players, thereby eliminating any sort of planned midfield play. However, the counter attacks were really good (hence the Cesar goal).

Maicon was the man of the match for me. Did well in defense, was immense in attack, and was involved in both goals.

Dacourt also had a noteworthy performance. He reads the oppositions game very well. A couple of careless fouls here and there, but a solid performance nevertheless.

Adriano, much improved, but still not world class. His determination during the match was admirable, but every time he touched the ball, you could feel that he had a burden on his shoulders, and he tried to do the impossible by just putting his head down and steaming through the opposition like a bull. However he was much better in the second half, with better passing and movement.

If Adriano could learn to look up every once in a while, he could be an excellent ball-holder during counter attacks, as was demonstrated during the end of the first half, when he held the ball during a physical tussle, quickly broke from Inters half to Catania’s, spotted Cesar, and slot him a brilliant pass. Too bad Cesar was marginally offside. Here’s hoping Mancini teaches Adriano how to look up every once in a while.

Welcome, Monkey_Business.

I missed the match due to a late poker night but it's great to read that Adriano is slowly improving. Crespo needs no more introduction and Ibrahimovic has contributed either an assist or a goal in every Serie A match thus far. The greatest surprise has to be Cesar though, as he continues to defy the critics with his second positive performance in a row.

Let's hope that we can carry this form to Livorno next week.

Underdogs? Remember Adani and his wondergoal against Juve in the Coppa Semi? I nearly cried when he took his jersey off and his undershirt told the runaway kid to go back to his family.

Decent performance. Not great but not terrible either. Cesar is definitely surprising me. He was Man of the Match easily for me. Liked what I saw from Adriano at times. He seemed a little quicker than last season though his lack of scoring touch in front of goal still seems to be a problem.

The complacency of this team worries me however. Ever since the last part of '06 season, it seems like a good portion of the team has been rather sluggish and not trying as hard. Because we lack creativity that needs to be remedied ASAP if we're to challenge for this season's scudetto.

are u ****ing kidding me?

i dont think so.

my stream worked in the second half and from what i saw he couldnt hold toghether a pass and didnt make any decent crosses.
unless he was awesome in the first i thought he was a waste of space before his goal int he second.

i also didnt like cordoba's second half.

Glad we won, Cesar...........cough cough, MOM? I think he is the first nerazzurra in the last decade who got loaned out, then after returning still got to play for Inter. Well I didn't see the game live but its good to hear that Adri is improving, Forza Adri.

Now to Turkey, I'm worried about that trip cause of the hostile atmosphere they have there, its not easy to win at their place. Just hoping that El Muro can recover in time.
