It was Zanetti's fault, everybody played the offside trap except him

faraoni misses a routine header, then gives the guy way too much space to cut inside and shoot, but it's zanetti's fault?

come on, i like faraoni a lot but that goal was all him

INTER BABY BOOM

Ranieri's team found a win against Cagliari (2-1).

INTER, GIFT AND... COUTINHO

Irregular goal, the youngster scores the second and the fear goes away.
Against Cagliari, we only saw some decent play after Motta's 1-0 goal.

Milan - They had to restart the season and restart is what they did even if none of the goals were scored by the strikers. By beating Cagliari, the hope for a better future from the recent pass returns. The goals from Coutinho and Motta were just enough despite the late goal from Larrivey. It was rightfully so because on the field, Ranieri's team was packed and very unlucky in the first half when they hit the crossbar twice. Luck then was on Inter's side as they went ahead with an offside goal but their superiority was legitimate. The fact is that after breaking the deadlock at 0-0, we saw another Inter although still far from its best levels. It shows the important confidence from Zanetti and company despite still too fragile physically and convoluted on the technical level.

Triple unfortunate The signal of a difficult day came just before the kick off when Sneijder, whose name was already in the starting lineup, had to skip the game due during the warm up in the cold and dampness of the San Siro. In his place came Coutinho who was initially supposed to be on the bench while Alvarez got the urgent call as he was heading to the stairs leading to the stands. The Argentinian then became one of the protagonists for Inter in the second half. The injury of Sneijder just a few minutes before the game and the two unlucky events in the game. First one was when Pazzini made a sudden turn and tested the reflection of Agazzi. Then there was also the freekick of Zarate. Two incredible occasions but we also saw an Inter without speed and imagination. Coutinho always seemed "inho" as a trequartista while Jonathan looked like an old uncle of Maicon. Cambiasso, Stankovic and Motta did not seem to be at their best physically. So Pazzini was like a drowning man that looked for a rescue that is crosses from the fullbacks.

Shy Cagliari Ballardini was right to complain about the first goal which was in a clear offside position but an honest person would also tell him that his team should not be as shy as they were. Because you can lose but you cannot forget about attacking especially against an Inter team in the first half. Therefore, the loss of Cossu was regrettable.

Ranieri's moves It is too early to know if this win is like the last illusion against Chievo or marks a real turning point. It is not too early, however, to know that Inter have a good coach because this victory was the result of the choices made by Ranieri as he was able to expand the game after disappointed first half. Zarate was taken out for being too selfish and the formation turned from 4-3-1-2 to 4-2-3-1 with Stankovic and Motta behind the trident of Alvarez-Cambiasso-Coutinho. Inter were able to find more spaces and after the first goal, the team continued with a string of attacks on the wings with the recently entered Alvarez especially. Then Coutinho got his beautiful goal which is the first in the league. Then he also got the applause from the San Siro as he was replaced by Obi to strengthen the midfield. Cagliari showed the late sign of awakening but there, the game was sure. Finally, Inter can restart again.

Actually I think it's mainly Faraoni for the reasons you just mentioned but, after watching the goal over again, I feel everyone share some of the blame. Motta and Deki should've helped Faraoni out instead of standing doing nothing, Samuel's positioning was terrible, Zanetti should've maintained the offside trap and Frog I don't what was he doing maybe he was trying to block the shooting angle only that he wasn't.

too many times this season we have seen a high ball come in and around the 6 yard box and our defence allows it to bounce. school-kid mistakes by us :palm:

that was probably because the guy who made that mistake was an actual school kid

i don't like that we conceded but ranieri wanted to give faraoni a run out instead of poli (for some stupid reason) because we can afford it if he made a mistake

I honestly can't blame Faraoni too much, yes he missed the header but then it was a nice move by their striker than his mistake. Seeing it now again, it's true that Motta or Stankovic could help him but didn't moved

First match for me in San Siro and it was wonderful. Sadly though, it wasn't that great for me, coz of the absences of SNEIJDER (unlucky in the very last few minutes I must add), Maicon, Lucio. Then, Stankovic was there for the whole freaking game and he irritated me alot in the first half. That being said, it was a wonderful experience for me to watch my Inter and Inter won !!! :D

Alvarez - he can irritate you with his slow moves for sure. :D :D

Forza Inter !!
