Jonathan was not really good. All his defensive plays were preceded by him being horribly out of position or failing to recognize a player making a run down his flank. Our defense in general was awful, but that shouldn't have been surprise. A mediocre backup, a 17 year old, and the nightmare duo of Chivu/Ranocchia. What else did we expect?

Zanetti used in the midfield which is sorry to say wrong decision.However he played tonight.

But we can't talk in general cause this is so experimental lineup so..

Some people are massively ignorant. Is our defensive 4 at fault for Juventus having about 60% of possession?

If defender is shit, it gives goals away from random blackouts (see Lucio).

We lost the midfield battle. Guarin and Cambiasso played in midfield, and at times Zanetti. None of them impressed me tbh. Guarin's defensive side was already questionable in regular season as he never really seemed to do anything defensively.

If we plan to face this season with Guarin and Cambiasso, then we're going to have a bad time.

We need our own Vidal.

My two cents. Boring game, meaningless tournament, but still sweet to see us beating JuBe :slick:

As for the players. Handa was good, saved few good shoots from JuBe players. I didn't like Jonathan at all, he did make some interceptions, but it was mostly due to his poor positioning and tackling. He also lost few balls in the attack. Rano and Chivu didn't work very well, both made some decent interceptions, but also crappy understanding between the two. Disappointed by the defense. M'Baye was poor going forward, but was utterly beast in the defense.

The midfield. IMO Guarin was bossing it. Decent in defense, and good in the attack, he send some nice long balls and showed he has some vision and pass. Cambi was crap imo, sad but true. He has never been good going forward, but was pretty crap in the defense as well. Zanetti as usual, he aint midfielder. Good dribbling moves now and than, and that's all.

The forward departement, Milito was below average, but he didn't even got balls. palacio was decent imo, not as bad as some say. He did hold on the ball pretty well. he failed few dribbles, but at least he didn't have misplaced passes and was trying, and he also showed he has some vision in him. That ball to Jonathan when he alone opened a counter was great. Coutinho, will just say, good job lad, keep going! Hope it wasn't serious, his injury i mean.

I liked the flexibility from Strama. Changed few tactics, and even though a friendly, at least the players were motivated. We'll see how he does in the future.
