I think we can all agree that one thing our game consistently lacks is creativity. We usually use Figo to fill that bill, and (supposidly) brought in Jimenez because Figo of course can't start or play every game, but we haven't seen much of Jimenez.

What I don't understand is since we have so many strikers (one less with Recoba's loan, but still a considerable amount) why not try Ibra in Figo's position? It's not the job he's there for because he's a striker but he's shown with his footwork and his creative passing ability that he can create chances.

I think it wouldn't hurt to try something like this in a "safe" match where we don't really have to worry about losing the game and can afford to try out some new things...

-----Crespo-------Suazo-----
------------Zlatan------------
-Stankovic-Cambi-capitano-

I know he's a natural striker but this also gives more playing time to crespo/adri and crespo can finish very well whereas suazo getting feeds from ibra before wasn't getting us too many goals.

What do you guys think of this idea?

I Agree. Inter need to adopt a 4-3-3 formation, since we have 5 star strikers. Inter should have brought in 2 proven midfielders, in this tranfer market, but instead invested in signing suazo. Dont get me wrong, he was a good signing but was not a nessecity. Which is why inter took so long in buying him, and why he almost joined ac milan. Anywayz whats done is done. Playing with three strikers seems like a good option. Its not like figo plays much defence anyway. We have the defenders to pull it off and the midfield can be more defensively grounded. Overall, i think we have the balance to play a 4-3-3 with 3 strikers.

If Ibra manages to maintain his stamina and fitness at a high level through out the game, that means he can help out in defence, fight for the ball, and still capable of attacking, I don't see why not?

By playing three farward this causes the opposition to play deeper, which takes pressure of the midfield as well.

it would also help if the defense plays further up field

compacting our players but may expose their lack of speed at the back

I've been saying this for years.

Not only would it solve our creativity problem, but it would also take the pressure off scoring goals away from him. Because even though he's a forward his finishing is his weakest(apart from defending) skill. He just doesn't have that "sniff out a goal" instinct to make the ball come wherever he is moving. And he hasn't developed the cold predatory finish to know if he should shoot, dribble or chip the ball to beat the keeper.

I think the only thing keeping him from scoring 25 goals a season is his nerves, because the skill is there.

Better put him as a trequartista where he could be the most usefull.

In fact Mancini tried this once already last season. But it was at a point where Ibra was still out of shape and out of form. Even so he did ok that time, and set up a couple of chances. I think it's ready for another try...

Yes, in fact this really is a 4-3-3 formation with a conservative center striker...

same here Adam,i think only recently people started thnking this radical way of ours

In all seriousness the "10" should be for Ibra and two forwards in front of him>>>

everything should be based around Ibra including the formation we would have to play to accomodate Ibra as the AM

like i said 15 goals and 15 assists is a killer season for anyone

Ibra is going to get even better, but some things he has shown clearly arent for mere mortals

I've suggested this before. His ways of handling the ball is very creative, and could work miracles. However, I would fear depending too much on him.

I think it failed because the third striker was Adriano. :D

It might work with Suazo - Crespo - Zlatan. But we'll miss a defensive player in Stankovic when he plays as AM.

He got injured after half an hour and we played a lot better when we went back to 4-3-1-2 instead of the front 3.

I doubt this will happen although I would love it. And about Ibra's finishing, I think his finishing was spot on ( pardon the pun =) ) last season.

It would be a good idea on paper, because we can field all our bricks in midfield. We dont need much creativity from them. But I think that Ibra is a striker and shoudnt try to do something he hasnt done.

And btw, which Inter game can be considered a "safe" game ? :D
