Profiles: - Ianis Zicu

Zicu1.jpg

Name: - Ianis Alin Zicu
Also known as: - Zicu
Position: - Midfielder
Used to playing in these formations: - [3-2-3-2], [4-4-2], [4-3-3] and [5-3-2]
Nationality: - Romanian
Place of birth: - Constanta
Date of Birth: - October 23rd 1983
Height: - 177 cm
Weight: 68 Kg
Best buddies with: - Andrei Cristea (FC Dinamo Bucuresti) & Vlad Munteanu (FC Dinamo Bucuresti)
Previous Clubs: FC Dinamo Bucuresti, 33 Appearances, 9 goals
FC Municipal Câmpina, 6 Appearances, 4 goals
Farul Constanta, 20 Appearances, 7 goals
Parma, 7 Appearances, 0 goals
Previously wore the number/s: - 20, 7 and 11
Which Romanian legend/player is he usually compared with: - Adrian Mutu, since both went to Inter at the same age. But Zicu is tipped to make a bigger impact in Inter since he seems to be a confident young man.
Commentators would most likely comment on his: - Impressive technical quality
His favorite goal is most likely to be the one: - Scored against Shakhtar in the UEFA cup last year, apparently for scoring a beauty and getting booked at the same time.
Famous for: - Being a versatile player, a star performer for both the Under-21 and Dinamo Bucuresti, confident off and on the pitch and of course a decent goal record on both International and club level.
How famous/great is he when compared to the rest of the youngster in Romania: - Ghioane > Munteanu > Mitea > Zicu > Keseru > Roman > Petre > Radoi > S. Bucuresti > D. Bucuresti
So far he’s famous in Inter for being: - A part of some currency to get Adriano back home where he belongs.
Most likely to be: - Loaned somewhere 40% Inter 30% Co-owned 20% Sold 10%
Where MoH first saw him: - I guess the Under-21 championship (I was more interested with Tiberiu Ghioane back then) but lets ignore that and the first time I had a good look at him was the game against Parma where Adriano scored that wicked free-kick? After the match finished Zicu went up and started talking with Capitano and Toldone.
MoH’s prediction of Zicu’s upcoming season: - Mancini knows (Oh, I really hope so!! :scared: ) this kid is beyond his years; don’t be surprised if he starts a few games of the bench and then…BOOM
Has the potential to be the next: - Gheorge Hagi (LOL, well that’s what they told me? I personally think he could be the next Pavel Nedved?)
Did you know: - Both he and Chivu played together in the Under-21 team, at that time the Romanian national team were considered very weak in defense and lethal upfront…who do you think was covering the defensive duty and who was showing the flare upfront? :D

MoH’s annoying FAQ: -

Q: Why a Zicu topic? You could have waster your time on something more interesting…Like <enter name of your favorite football player>?
A: After a lot of debating, I have come out with the conclusion that Ianis Zicu is one of the hottest prospects in Romanian football, and I feel it is my duty to spread the word (It’s a dirty job, but someone has to do it) & by now, you guys should know I LOVE discovering young talents. :D

Q: Zicu? A Talent? What are your sources Mr. Smarty pants?
A: Word of mouth, everyone knows about it, but hardly anyone does it well. It pays to visit a few websites as well.

Q: That’s a lot of information! Are you sure they are correct?
A: Sadly no, and I take no responsibility with the data provided (Except the MoH sections & this annoying FAQ”

Q: I love you Moh, can I have your baby?
A: No one has asked me this question...yet :( but SURE!

Zicu looks funny , if I wouldn't know him I'd say he's 15 ;) .

Zicu is an extremely slow player, but makes up for it due to his technique and vision. Is an attacking midfielder, and a player we should take care of since he will become a fantastic player in the future.

Should he stay for this season? No.

Very creative way of creating a player profile, MoH.

Zicu may have some potential as this article might suggest, but he his chance to even gain some playing time in a Coppa Italia match is slim to none. He should be loaned, i sense another career being slowed down because we have way too much talent upfront.

I agree. And maybe we are planning to loan him out since he is not on the squadlist...

That won't cut the mustard in serie A. I guess he is a Valeron-type of player and La Liga is where he belongs. We have to loan him there first and then sell him to some team who is willing to pay.

I like great talent... like this...

a youngster can survive at inter if he has strong confidence... just like martins..., we may need such boys to beat juve or milan...

recoba, vieri and many other inter players seems clueless when they play juve, while canna always have fun with the opponents despite being the loser side at the moment...

is he really that slow? veron is not fast, isnt he ?

certain player can still shine if he can cope with his setbacks..

I think I want this guy in our team..., too bad we just have too many players... perhaps we should loan him to Lazio and give them Lamouchi as a bonus...

He should be loaned to other Serie "A" clubs without a doubt. There's no place for him in Inter at the moment. He's already played in UEFA Cup and he's not for the youth team, so Inter management better loan this dude so that he gets more playing time. ;)

Nice stuff MoH. Now we all know about Zicu some more.

Anywayz I agree Yopi. We should definately pack as many players possible in an attempt to get Cesar to come.

I would definately like the deal if we included Lamouchi, Farinos on loan, and Zicu on loan.
