Forum SupporterFirst game of the WC for us, it´s always exciting even though a game at 5 pm on a working day is awesome, I´ll try the watch some parts by going to the lunch room sometimes where there´s a TV, we use a rotation system between the 4 of us , our boss is OK with that on big competitions.
I´m sick and tired about this Ronaldo excitement everywhere our press dedicates more time talking about him then about the actual team. Who cares if he took a couple of pics after the training session with some fans or if he feels confident or not. It´s like he´s the only one on the team. Considering that he only performed for our NT in the beginning of his career, early United seasons, and in the last year I think tjhis is disrespectful for the other players. For instance Nani, Pepe, Coentrão and Moutinho have been way more consistent on their NT career then Ronaldo, and no one talks about them.
Our problems are for me the RB spot, our DM Miguel Veloso isn´t great, he has his moments but I´d rather have William Carvalho there even though I get why he´ll not start, it was only his 1st season at a high level and Veloso has been on the team for a long time. On the midfield Meireles never was a player to play 90´ at the same intensity, he always breaks after the 60th ´, now with some physical problems I wonder how he is. Up from both Nani and Ronaldo aren´t 100% but they can make a difference, and on the center we can decide between 2 worls class players, Postiga and H. Almeida, every team in this WC would cry to have just to have one of them.
It always gives me pain to think what kind of player H. Almeida has become, he was a beast on the youth NTs, always one of the top scorers, it was usually him and Huntellar, but he stopped evolving, now he´s only a big guy with a powerful left foot and a weird mustache, back in the day he was massive on the headers and long shots, he hardly does that anymore, and misses sitters like crazy.
I´ll always remember his free kick goal, funny thing it was against Inter, back in the day, one of my favorite goals. The sound of the ball hitting the net is music to my ears (only possible because the stadium had a ban at the time, can´t remember why). Inter won 3-1 if I remember correctly.
For the game I expect a 2-0 win for Germany but secretly hope we can pull a 2-1 win.

Both left for cheap, Veloso in particular we definitely could have acquired considering our relationship with Genoa.
