agree with Pajo. If he left after treble winning season, we all would have a different on about Pandev.

There is no such thing as 'just a number' in a starting 11 or a squad for that matter. The level of contribution varies amongst players but it doesn't make him totally redundant.

Pandev was not a world beating great, but his contribution to the 11 was still their passively if not directly.

Personally, I don't appreciate him but calling him (or any squad member) 'a non-vital' part of the team is stupid.

Never said he was vital, go check again and STOP putting words into my mouth, words i never thought of, let alone said them, he was along with Chivu the least "vital" part from the starting players, but he was one of the reasons Jose managed to play 4-2-3-1. We would have never won CL with Balotelli and his workrate instead.

I don't hype Pandev, in fact i don't like him at all and argue with macedonian fans all the time, but you are really, really undervaluing his performance under Jose.

You said "one of the reasons we won CL" and you said it in context. If you're going to try to deny that context now, fine. I already showed you that we played many, many minutes WITHOUT pandev, in CL, so to answer your specific statement, NO....pandev isn't the reason we played 4-2-3-1, nor was he critical in establishing the 4-2-3-1 or whatever else you want to insinuate.

And this statement is hilarious:
We would have never won CL with Balotelli and his workrate instead.

Do you realize we wouldn't even get past the group stage if balotelli didn't assist AND score v Rubin on matchday 6? Are you posting about balotelli being "one of the reasons we won CL"?

Lastly, to I4E, all I said is that he was a squad player. That's it. If in saying he was "one of the reasons we won CL" means that every player on the squad was a reason we won the CL, then sure, that's correct. But we all know that's not what Pajo is insinuating, but whatever.

Of course Ballo had his moments, but no, i believe with him instead of Pandev in CL we won't have won it. He is one of the reasons, just like 15 more players. But Pandev was more important since he made Mourinhos idea of 4-2-3-1 possible, he couldn't implement it with Ballotelli. If you believe otherwise, fine, i can't change your mind.

Right. Pandev was so critical to the 4-2-3-1 idea that was responsible for the CL, that he played just over 1/2 of the total minutes in CL KO rounds. Damn...that's a critical piece. So critical that we have to sub him out all the time.

The majority of those minutes coming v CSKA. Furthermore, our statement ties v Barca (he only played 30% of the Barca minutes) and v Chelsea (he only played 50% of the chelsea minutes).

Good god. How did we run the 4-2-3-1 and win games without Pandev then?

I'm done with this shit. Fuck the rest Pandev is the best.

Subbing him out has nothing to do with it. The guy had stamina issues, hardly played more than 60 minutes. Kinda like Cassano now. Lucky for Inter we had good back up players, we don't now.

And we rarely played 4-2-3-1 without Pandev. We played 4-3-1-2. He was also starter in all CL games bar Barca away where fucking Chivu was the LW, for utter defensive minded formation.. Go check your facts if you don't remember.

We didn't need Pandev to play a 4-2-3-1.

We have played it before Pandev's arrival, vs Rubin Kazan. The idea of 4-2-3-1 goes far back to the Dynamo Kiev game in our 2-1 come back, from the second half in that game onwards.

If you look at the last two games in Serie A when we were desperate for points in the league, without Pandev we still insisted in playing 4-2-3-1 (vs Chievo, vs Siena). So I really question the degree of necessity of Pandev. It's difficult to tell more than that, because Balotelli was always not called up around March and April, him and Mourinho constantly fell out during that time.

If you guys remembered in our game vs Chelsea (2-1 win), we switched from a 4-3-1-2 to a 4-2-3-1, we introduced Balotelli on the right flank to stop Malouda's forwarding run. Thus Pandev isn't the only choice to 4-2-3-1, and from these two points, we can see that we did play 4-2-3-1 without Pandev.

Looking at Mourinho using Di Maria nowadays and Ancelotti using Pastore in this sort of role, I can totally see why I heavily criticized Pandev's lack of effectiveness in the attack. Working hard isn't an excuse for poor efficiency in the attack.

I don't interpret Pajo as insinuating that he was 'critical' or 'vital'. And tbh, I though Pandev was better (individually) at Lazio than with us.

What I believe is that some people (not all) have misinterpreted players performances like that of Pandev. He was good, not great. And although I believe we had a very good forward set up, I thought we were very thin in terms of depth. Any long(ish) term injury to 1 or 2 of them, we were fucked. I think he was used appropriately taking into consideration he is definitely not an Eto or Milito. Also, I doubt we would've paid to bring him in.

Inter took advantage of his situation at Lazio (and extremely low cost, if any) as opposed to bringing him in for his 'superior abilities' . Pandev found himself at the right place and the right time for Inter to pick him up.

Before we bitch about pandev was good at lazio, sure and was not playing for 6 months and we took him for nothing.
so the guy was out of form when we got him, but still contribute to the team, give respect we're its due.

Yeah I read that 6 goals so far not bad.

Seriously? There's actually an opinion that we'd have done just as well with Balotelli in Pandev's place? I don't even know what to say to that.

He wasn't the key player, the team wasn't built around him, but he played just as crucial a role as anyone else in that first 11. There was no one in the squad who could do what he and Eto'o did.
