Adriano should only get one assist, It would be ridicoulus if he got an assist for Ibra's goal. A shot from 30 yards out doesn't have an assist ffs.

Ok, fair enough but do you remember Stankovics goal against Chievo earlier this year? It was about from the same distance as Zlatans and to tell you the truth I can't remember who gave gim the ball but I'm pretty sure there was no assist.

Recoba's goal was taken from just outside the box as I recall. maybe that's the difference... I dunno but to tell you the truth i don't think Deki should of gotten an assist for that one either.

i don't really know, maybe we can consider the first goal, an adriano assist cause it was only 1 touch, it's different if it's 1 touch or 3 or 4.

Maybe Frisko should define his criteria for "assist" and post it in the first post of this thread. For me:

assist
as‧sist - /əˈsɪst/ - [uh-sist]
-noun
A touch or pass before the final shot on goal, regardless from 10 or 100 yards, with foot or buttocks. Can't be used on own goals or direct free kick.

If you give Adriano assist for the pass to Zlatan yesterday you should give Viera an assist for his pass to Zlatan against Parma. Otherwise It doesn't make sense.

What's the difference between the two goals? In both cases the scorer had to shoot from a distance and in both cases the scorer had defenders to beat.

The Viera assist was actually closer then the Adriano one so..

It's simple, Vieira's was a simple, ordinary pass, and Zlatan had to do everything, turn and shoot. Adriano's was a quick, direct pass that gave Zlatan the space to shoot, that's an assist.

Just would be better to give assist to the guy who touched it before goal. Maybe not considered as assist by some people but much clearer way of counting.

Let Frisk decide it, its his thread. All we need to know at the end of the season is who made the most chances for his team mates and who scored most goals.

Its not about the numbers . Its about who's performed better.

Doesn't make sense. Viera passed it 30 yards atleast and lobbed it over two players, Adriano chested it down. What if Ibra didn't shoot it and instead dribbled the two players infront of him and then scored, would Adriano still get the assist?

This case means there is no assist, because then Ibra would have been the one who created the last few touches before he scored
