I agree, it is ridiculous. These kind of stuff happens a lot, a quality assist not given just because the ball 'kissed' a defender on its way to the goalscorer. This is the reason I have added 'key contributions', some of these KCs are more relevant than some of the assists. Just like Sanchez's kc was far more relevant than Lukaku's 'assist'.

It comes from dividing the G+A+KC by the total goals scored, not by tallying up all the numbers.

You can call it whatever, but I agree with Livescore here - that is an assist by any definition. If it wasn't given as an assist, would have given a kc for that. Lautaro created that goal.

The problem with Livescore and all these "official" counts is that they just assign an assist to whomever touched the ball last. Fact is that Lautaro didn't make a pass for a goal there, hence, it should not be considered an assist.

Lautaro could see Lukaku's movement, and his pass/tackle seemed intentional to me. He was trying to win the ball and push it in Lukaku's direction. That 'pass' helped Lukaku break free for the goal. So I would not argue with the assist. It was the pass that created the opportunity and even Lukaku seemed to acknowledge that after scoring. In my book this is an assist:

You're describing what you labelled as key contribution, especially since Lautaro was not in possession of the ball, but anyway.

Expecting a bit more from Vidal and Sensi, but that's a decent spread. Lautaro and Sanchez need to score more, but they're obviously well involved.

And for Hakimi's goal. He drew 2 defenders out of the ball's trajectory and let the ball fall to Hakimi.

Barella should get an assist for the own goal but iirc Livescore does not provide assists for own goals.


Also, for Skriniar's goal Hakimi should get a key contribution.

Yeah, I was on the fence on that one - I guess the only reason I didn't award it is coz that goal already had 2 kcs. I will take that on board and award that kc.

Apart from the one I agreed above, I think you are just more liberal with the key contributions than I plan to be.
