I just had a phone call with Moratti, I asked him about Gasp, he told me it was Mourinho`s recommendation. He said he had this long phone call with Mouh and that Mouh told him that Gasp would be the best choice for Inter.

I personally trust Mouh`s choices. so I say let`s give him a shot.

Sacchi: 'Is Gasp right for Inter?'
Sunday 26 June, 2011

Arrigo Sacchi is unconvinced that Gian Piero Gasperini will succeed at Inter. “I wonder if his football will even be possible?”

The former Genoa Coach was appointed on Friday to replace Leonardo after a long list of more prestigious names, including Andre Villas-Boas, Marcelo Bielsa and Sinisa Mihajlovic, turned down the job.

“I ask myself if he’ll be able to express himself,” noted ex-Italy and Milan boss Sacchi in the Gazzetta dello Sport.

“His Genoa performed movement off the ball, so I wonder will his football even be possible at Inter?

“He will have to adapt to the squad, most likely. I just wonder if that will work to improve Gasperini’s bag of tricks or instead reduce his capabilities.”

He has been nicknamed "Gasperson" after Enrico Preziosi, president of Genoa, claimed Gasperini to be their Ferguson.

Sacchi has got a point there. This Inter squad is no way fit for the kind of football played by Genoa under Gasp. It will be interesting how he and the team adjust.

Well that is the challenge for Gasp. Understand our limitations and keep the players happy, get the results.

or hopefully it means Moratti is ready to make significant changes. otherwise why hire such a manager on a 2 year contract (however cheap to rescind). just has to be. but going on what we know of MM, Saachi is right and barring a miracle, Gasperini is so very SCREWED.

Hopefully Moratti and the management do indeed something about our squad. Even if Gasp is only short-term plan the next plan would be Guardiola. And what kind of players Guardiola wants? Not exactly what Inter have right now mostly. So it's only expected we will sign some younger players who are more faster and more technical than our current squad generally.

It's not a straight two year contract, he has the option of a second year which is gone if we don't qualify for the Champions League.

Gasperini: "I can't wait to get started"
Monday, 27 June 2011 15:36:11

MILAN - "I'm thrilled" were the first words uttered by Gian Piero Gasperini, Inter's new coach, as he entered Nerazzurri headquarters in Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Milan. Bombarded by questions from the dozens of journalists awaiting him, Gasperini added: "I can't wait to start and get down to work, though the players are still on holiday so I'll have to wait a bit. We want to have a great season. What can I promise? The best. Was it a surpise? A wonderful surprise."

Mario Beretta: "Gasp will use the 4-3-3 formation, used spare parts"

Speaking on Radio Sport to comment on the good time of Italian engineers, three of whom sit on the benches of Inter, AC Milan and Juventus, Mario Beretta has given its support to the choice of betting on Inter Gian Piero Gasperini: "It is a person intelligent, will descend into a reality that is completely different from Genoa. Something is missing in terms of expertise, but if you do not start ever ...". According to the former coach of Brescia, Gasperini, Inter, give up the module with three defenders: "It will go to a 4-3-3 and the company will have to think of some parts"

No we need 1 more CM. we have JZ to cover Cuchu. Motta for Deki. Cou for Sneijder. But Motta and Deki are prone to injuries. So, we need 1 more CM.

WELCOME! I'm confident

Benvenuto Sig. Gian Piero!

Allegri didn't really ring "WATCH OUT!" to us and yet he still got the job gone. In my opinion this guy is a better manager than Allegri and Mancini. How this translates to a bigger club, we will see. Hopefully doing good at an average club means he will do great at a good club, but it doesn't always work out that way...
Let's not forget about the big investments and many transfers made by milan last season! I think that's even more important. Coaches can be fired after 6 months but players usually stay 4-5 years. In this particular case, I agree with our management with the choice made:

* he's italian and has italian Serie A experience

* has already worked with some of our players [Genoa long spell]

* out of contract, no release clauses [15m is EXTREME, remind you that Mou was bought for 16m after THE TREBLE!]

* seems that he's a temporary fill-in until Pep comes, so it would have made no sense paying Villas Boas' release clause in this case.

* in theory cannot be worse than Rafa & Leo.

* I am confident he can win Scudetto, while for UCL you need more than just a coach.

* born on the same day as Mourinho!! :D

As long as we use the EXTRA 15m Euro in the summer transfer market, I'm happy.

I just don't want to have the situation where we might end up with a midfield of Cambiasso, Zanetti and Motta, we would be begging for Kharja.
