Thinking outside of the box for a minute (I fucking hate that phrase) - do you guys think he could play LB?

He seems to have the skillset for it, apart from crossing, which doesn't really make any difference compared to the rest of our full backs.

Interesting but don't think he has the defensive skills required. Almost all one vs ones he has he loses.

I think the 4-3-3 is going to suit him much more. He had a great opening game where he looked like the only player who gave a shit, to a very lackluster second game where he just looked lost.

But I'm definitely not giving up on him yet.

I blame Mancini for trying turn Kondogbia to Yaya, and Kovacic to Silva before that..

I love Kondo, and I am sure he's gonna turn out to be world class. Great ball winner, great dribbler... a bit (lots) of work on positioning and transitioning/distribution and we've got a winner!

Most importantly he needs to work on his passing.

He reminds me of Kovacic. Not in terms of playing style, but in term of potential vs. ability. You can see glimpses of pure class, and than bad positioning, missed passes..amateurish fuck ups. I think the problem is, he is trying too much to prove himself, and that could be his biggest problem. I think he trying too much to prove the money spent on him. However, i think now that we made record signing with Joao Mario, and most hyped player in Gabigol, the attention will be on them, so Kdog can work on his game, and develop without pressure.

What i think FDB should do now, is to FIX him position, and teach him what to do in that position . I think Kdog is not like Sneijder or Banega to have a freedom on the pitch, and to dictate the game. For me he should be teach how to play B2B. Help in defence, regain possession, move the ball forward (long legs, fast, good dribling), and pass to Banega or Joao, so they can create the attack. He can participate at attack, but only as a "bridge", meaning gets the ball and deliver to other player with one touch (i think he is very good at it), and sometimes if he have opportunity to shoot on goal.

Anyway, i think that with proper tutoring, he can become one of the best B2B in the game.

He has quality, both physical and technical. He just need a proper coach to work on his passing and decision making to improve his final product. (just like kovacic, who lack of proper guidance on the decision making. He was the same with us, talented but cant deliver).

Here is the thing bevore he joined inter his passing was way better. I mean he never was a guy who played them long balls and through passes all game but he usually kept it simple and made few mistakes. Now somehow since he joined inter his passing has been very very poor and he regularly fucks up passes that should be easy for him.
Now i refused to believe that the 3 years at Monaco and sevilla were a fluke, i much rather think that he did not manage to play at his best for inter yet. I m not sure why he s passing has been so piss poor, maybe mancini asked to much of him (passing wise), maybe it was just the disfuctional team or the augmented pressure he has here.
Anyways i hope he can turn things around and return to his usual self.

He is very good physically and in his dribbling. There were very good flashes of him getting away from tight situations against Palermo which was rare last season.

His passing will improve with time. I'm sure he'll keep his place in the team.

Yet he's had his worse games for Inter whence we play 4-3-3. Like in that lacklustre second game you reference for example.

No more excuses for K-Dog, he's had a full season in Italy under his belt, it's time he stepped up. What you describe is a DMF ( which I believe he is ) not a box to box. It's no coincidence that he's best games for Inter have come when playing as a DMF. Not sure how we can fit him into our 4-3-3, perhaps we can't?

because there is less space compared to ligue 1 perhaps. better organized opposition, higher pressure to perform?

love this guy btw, great player to watch.

insane dribbles/ and not afraid to show it - excellent technique to. he should remain starter for us.

also believe this guy is waay better than kova ever was for anyone. not only stronger physically but his dribbling is also vastly better. there are no real weak points to his game, yes, he made some passes that got intercepted but this is what happens when you try to make plays. if he keeps improving like he does he will be worth the money invested in him & more

Maybe when we expect less from him due to Joao Mario and Banega now carrying half of the load he won't feel so much pressure. I still think his poor performance against Palermo was due to fitness, he was tired and was not accurate which cost us two important counter attacks.

Yeah this is important IMO. Kondo is not the one orchestrating our game, he can be the supporting act now and use his strengths.

Meh. A young player can have a bad game every once in a while. I don't get all this drama over one game.

People are just mad because he isn't Pogba quality. Guess what, get over it. We dropped too much money on him, but he is still talented.

It's logical, ain't it? We all saw how Pogba had less mental issues in general and started performing on a certain level that Kdog still isn't finding. It's easier to see parallels but Pogba is more of an one of the kind type player and Kdog ain't. What hurts is that we actually dropped a considerable sum for Kdog.

He could be warming up and exploding this season, I can see it happen, but our whole team must be playing good as well.
